Questions about Christmas Tree event results

What new ways are you talking about? I just addressed it once in the op and that’s it. And you say as if I had plenty of other choices but is there any better way to get my questions and point across other than to point to that tree specifically? Yea I’m perosonally dissatisfied because I didn’t get first place obviously, but nothing that I said is based off of pure emotion and toxicity like you want to accuse me of.

And if you actually read my post I am asking for clarification about specifically the results in the gm tree category, the point of my post isn’t a comment or else it would be in the feedback section not in the help and advice section. I don’t know why there are always people like you that take these things on such an emotional level when I have clearly laid out logical and valid points and am looking for those kinds of counter points in return. And yea it’s subjective but if it was really purely subjective why in the world do people go to school to learn any kind of art?

Your tree was nice and in my opinion the most interesting looking tree in the category. However, as was stated before it's a category about the GMs judged by the GMs. If they preferred the other tree (which was also extremely well done in my opinion) then so be it. You still won something and had your efforts acknowledged. Just try again next time.

 

1. You've made your central point explicitly clear multiple times throughout your original post, emphasizing your opinion that you didn't like the aesthetics of your competitor's submission. You addressed the issue more than once, and the evidence signifying that is right there.

2. No one said that your opinion was based off of pure emotion. Although I suppose I'll be the first to state the obvious: your opinion is based off of pure emotion.

3. On that note, you sure like to accuse others of being emotional when every single one of your posts this entire thread have been expertly bolded yet laden with enough typos to show just that.

4. And yes, we get it. You posting this in the Help & Advice section instead of the Feedback section was its own form of subtle passive-aggression. No need to point it out.

5. Lastly, people go to school to learn any kind of art for many different types of reason. As a person who went to school to learn art history and visual anthropology, however, I can tell you with absolute certainty that "judging events for a video game private server" is definitely not one of them.

 

I understand that, and as i have stated in the OP i am not looking to have the results overturned by any means, I just want an explanation as to why the other was chosen instead of ours. This isnt the first time I didn't come up as a winner for a gm event but I have never been so confused as to why until this one

 

Maybe it's because "xD Kai is a power hungry ban appeal monster" isn't an original meme... and because the judges liked the other one more lmfao.

 

1. The only time i repeated the point was at the end to summarize my whole post, isn't that normal for a post of that length?

2. yea no one said those words exactly but obviously people are implying that I am. And I explained my points whether they stemmed from personal dissatisfaction or not with valid points. You saying that everything I said is "Pure emotion" is bullshit and you can't back it up with facts

3. Yea I bold stuff that i feel like can summarize the points. Why does that seem emotional to you? Alot of people like to skim posts so why not make it easier for people reading to spot the important parts? I do this in a bunch of posts that are long

4. Obviously I need to point this out since I made it clear im looking for answers and I understand that my points arent objective fact and yet you seem to believe that I say everything as to be a dictator of some sorts, but ok thats your interpretation

5. My point was about the topic of subjectivity that @Penny brought up and my point is that art isnt Purely subjective and that there are techniques and skills that differentiate good art and bad art. It's subjective at a point but much of it is generally objective at the base at least. Otherwise you can be justified saying a kids stick drawing is better than anything Van gogh ever painted.

 

In any case im going to close this thread since its not going to get anywhere at this point.
My apologies @Aerith and her team, I have no ill intentions toward you and I understand that I may have been too blunt with my OP. If the text for this event was just as or even more important than the visuals in this event, I guess i'll just take that as an answer which I am satisfied enough with to move on.
