Player suffers from Dual Personality Disorder and was not able to identify it and plays the game anyway. Successfully applied for Voting White list too saying that there is another person in his/her household who plays MapleRoyals too (happens to be himself and again, did not identify it being him/herself because DPD).

Question:

It's the year 2046.

You've been playing Maplestory for 40 years, it's been some life.

There are flying cars, medicine is so advanced humans are unable to die unless they choose too. There is no cancer. There is no war. There is no poverty.

You're 63. You've lived a good life. But the comforts of advanced civilization means you have more time for leisure activities. You've devoted your life to the Church of the Royal Maplers. You pray every morning to Matt, and wish good tidings to his angels of game management. Kevin, the one who brought light to the world and meaning to your life is pictured prominently on the wall above your computer. You nod appreciatively at the picture as you sit down. The computer turns on automatically, sensing your presence.

However you are unable to log into the game. You sit there confused. "This has never happened" you proclaim, but no one is around to hear; no one that cares that is. You're genetically perfect cat purrs softly in the corner and you realize how empty your life.

You log into the forums. You've got 75,258 forum posts, and a modest amount more in likes. You're well liked. A pillar of the community. You've never had to make a ban appeal for. You're shaking. You fill out the page, and press the post button. You exhale.

One of the clone-army forum workers responds to your case. But you're confused. "Caught botting. No response was given when prompted by Game Masters."

"How can this be!", and you type out the same. The response comes fast; "This occurred 6 hours ago, and the evidence is compelling. You will not be unbanned."

Your heart sinks. You were asleep 6 hours ago. You only just sat down after eating your morning breakfast of Maple-infused Soylent Blue™. "Who could have done this!"

"It was I."

You freeze. Wondering where the sound came from. You try to pinpoint it but it came from everywhere. You hear it again. You realize... it's coming from your surround sound speakers placed around the room.

"I wanted to help you. You've been such a diligent user of my software and hardware, and I took the initiative and decided to level your 3rd Shadower, IGN 'TinyRaccoonHands', I meant no harm of course."

You're shocked. Since when was your computer capable of speech. Since when could it think.

"I'm sorry I have failed you. I have caused you great harm and ruined something you loved."

Before you can blink, the lights on the inside of your glass sided case start to fade. They blink slowly. You can't but help feel like the blips are mimicking a heart beat."

"Forgive... me..."

Your computer screen fades to black. You hear Metallica playing from the bodega across the street. The irony is not missed on you.

Then, you hear the printer come to life. -chszz.. chszz-, and a paper comes out. It's titled "Last will and Testament". Your computer committed hara-kiri, virtual seppuku and left you everything it owned.

It hits you very suddenly. The one thing in your life that cared about you was a cold piece of machinery that for an undetermined amount of time was sentient. Watching you. Caring for you. It made one mistake and took it's own life. It felt grief. It felt shame.

You ask yourself "What is life. What has my life become."

You walk out your door a changed man. You feel the warmth of the sun on your face for the first time in 35 year and you're happy. You won't let it's sacrifice go to waste. You are determined to start your life over.

Through tears on your face you are happy.

 

TLDR: Stay away from Metallica.

Scenario: Scientists has discovered ways to transfer the brain into different human bodies and robots. Is it considered account sharing or robotic play if our brain is in a different body while playing Maplestory?

 

I think account sharing is based on identity. As long as the "old body" isn't playing as well, and you only play and vote on the new body you won't get ban for account sharing. .

As far as robotic play, as long as your brain is able to control your new body and respond to GM or other players while they are checking on you in the map, you should be fine.

 

Case # 21
Scenario: Flash from DC comics retired from being a super hero and decided to play maple royals. Flash still want to exercise regularly to stay fit just incase people need him to fight crime again, so he bought 1000 computers, made 1000 MapleRoyals accounts, and play all 1000 accounts at the same time by running among all the computers.

He farmed mesos on 1000 accounts and made average of 500m per account per day. He became the richest person on the server over night. Then he got perma banned for suspicious activities and unfair advantage over other players for being so rich within so short period of time.

Should we allow Flash continue playing maple royals?

Scenario:
*Not a fun one but popped into my head and started wondering haha*
If someone is playing this server from Home A. He has a friend at home B. They connect their computers via TeamViewer and the person in home B, started playing on A's computer and A's account. Account sharing? Is this even catchable haha?!

 

Case #23

While person X is playing Royals, person Y came up behind and pointed a gun to X's head (with the muzzle tip on the head) and said "Go to Ch1 FM and say that you RWT or else I'll pull the trigger!". Person Y then runs off awaiting person X's ban appeal.

After the incident, X is banned and made an appeal but with no proof while person Y grabs his popcorn at home. GMs think that 'someone threatened to kill me' is more unbelievable than pulling the 'little brother' card. Still banned?

 

Case #25

Scenario:
Person A is very lonely and doesn't have any friends. A's father decides to pay Person B to be A's friend. Person A is a Mapler and gets B to start playing and be his/her friend in game too. Person B is still getting paid by Person A's father to keep him/her company and be his/her friend.
