IGN: All my characters Problem: A lot of my equips across all characters are missing. Details: I took a long break from MapleRoyals a while back and I seem to have lost a lot of things . I pretty much lost a bil or more worth of items across my characters. Is there anything you guys can do about this? If the case is me being hacked I understand and theres nothing you can do about it but if thats the case I can't play here anymore if theres a chance of this happening repeatedly..
When issues like this happens is mostly because is not a server leak or something. Were you using the same account information somewhere else?
If you are not using the same account information elsewhere will you give me permission to look up your email on a specific site that deals with leaked information, their T&C requires that any searches on anyone but yourself be done with written permission. It simply means I type in your email and I get back any results if there is a match on your email, and those results will come from any sites you are registered to and have had their database leaked. As there have been no breaches of security from this server, and there are not any known exploits that would let anyone access your account, we will not offer any sort of refunds without being able to confirm that the problem comes from the server.
I am going to go back on what I said here partially, as you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions of the server that includes giving us permission to use the information you provide for account security purposes, and as such I looked into it. I have PM'd you the information I could find. Your claim that you are not using the same account information elsewhere is not true at all, and I have verified that you use the same account information here as you do on at least one other site. Since all passwords are encrypted and salted here, only way to confirm that your password matched was to try logging into your account on our test server, which worked. Because of you reusing account information that are publically and easily available you will not receive any sort of refund. I have also permanently banned your character Meeko as you have not changed your password, and if you wish to be unbanned you will need to make a ban appeal.
So kind of setting in stone that I shouldn't return. Thanks for the solid reply I guess. Just curious what difference would it make if I didn't use my info somewhere else. Honestly whether I did or did not shouldn't change the fact that my account was violated and in return I get a straight up ban. I know its in fine print but what would happen if I didnt? (Especially after donating to you guys a while back) Also just saying "publically and easily available" is not true at all. Someone definitely had to try to get this information.
Like I said, once you have changed your password to something hopefully more secure you will be unbanned, your password is not secure at all, and have to be changed. You are correct that someone had to try and get this information, however with the little effort it took, I do consider it being easily available. Only time you would have received a refund would have been in a situation where we can confirm that the problem is infact caused by the server. I definitely hope you simply forgot that you were reusing your account information in this way because it's extremely disrespectful to be lying in this way, essentially crying wolf. We don't have the means to be responsible for your lack of account security which is why we can't offer any refund, it would result in a tremendous amount of extra work that could have been avoided.
I honestly forgot I've used this info anywhere else but thanks for "helping" I guess. So much for 3 years here
