Thing is, there are male and female.
If you are a male and want to "be" a female, create a female char.

Things not going to change because of a few people that wants (or feels) to be different.

 

They are used interchangeably on virtually all legal documents and has been for the history of humanity

They are not used interchangeably, as legal documents will specify sex not gender. In application to federal legal documents in the United States, anyways.

To get back on topic, I think most people would agree that this isn't an unreasonable suggestion. But I think most people also know this is custom content that Matt is very unlikely to implement.

 

This is not possible to implement because of how item IDs work. This has already been discussed twice before. Now everyone move on.

Just what we need on a video game. SJWs... This game has been around for a long time, assuming you played GMS, EMS or SEA etc. You should then understand that this is the way the game has always been. You can scroll any equipment and weapons provided you did the quest. So I'm not sure what you mean about scrolling.

Sex is deterimed by your chromosomes, and by extension your genes.
Gender is determined by social norms because people learn by putting things into boxes (we distinguish things on what makes them different. Both cats and dogs are furry and have 4 legs but one meows and one barks, thus different.

You can be male genetically and identify as whatever you want, you can't change your genes though. Calling yourself female doesn't make you female however.

In the medical field, most, if not everyone who isn't a bigot, is accepting of pronouns and the gender you like to be called and so on. That's because gender has no physical bearing on who you as a person are. There are patterns (Male sex to he gender, etc), and most people fit into this, and that's why it's the social norm.

Now, why do people want to know your biological sex? because there are drugs you cannot give to male or females. There are medical conditions that physically do not exist for the opposite sex. (Men cannot have a hysterectomy for example.) Doctors want to help you, when they ask for your sex, they aren't asking for your pronouns, they want to know whether or not they need to take into account that you might need a pelvic, or a prostate exam. They might need to know because a teenage female (sex) on estrogen is a red flag but isn't for a male transitioning. Females should not touch finasteride, men shouldn't take nitrofurantoin. They need to know because insurance companies also have roadblocks of sorts in place that will flag paying for certain things depending on how you fill out the paperwork. They're checks in place to catch mistakes, not to push a narrative that only women should have a vagina, and men a penis.

Biological sex matters because in the real world, science, matters. Don't lie to your doctors and don't lie to your insurance companies if you're trans and transitioning as they will only cause trouble for you down the road.

Please do not use the fact that there's male and female clothing in a game to push a sort of idea... this topic pains me to no end as a scientist and a medical professional.

It kind of is though, there are male and female characters with clothing restrictions and the entire thread hangs on the fact that you think clothing are independent of your sex (which, they are), but this isn't real world where what you wear is determined by your size lol.

This^ There are client limitations in place, and as it stands the drop tables are designed a way they are for a reason (while might be unfair in respect to popularity of training spots... its pretty uniform when you take all maps into account), this isn't as simple as simply making all clothing wearable by whoever. This is a videogame, and equips having sex restrictions is part of the challenge/reward of playing a male or female character.

Now, if you identify as she/her, make a female character, no one will know what you are in real life unless you tell them. There's really no philosophical debate to be had here, you aren't restricted to one sex upon account creation. It's also a completely different debate if you argue there's no gender binary.... but this really isn't the place for that.

If this is a matter of.... unfairity of equips in terms of drop locations... that's a different issue, and there's already threads in place to discuss that.

so... before this turns into a troll/joke thread or an off topic discussion on gender... i'm going to lock it, as what is being requested as already been discussed/answered. I'm sorry there's no search function at the moment or I'd post the threads.
