So -avoid- the whole discussion of HP Washing. Just leave that out of this threade and lets just discuss BOSS DAMAGE. I am by far not a mathematician at all. I don't know how to code or do any numbers like that. My suggestion is to simply make boss damage less for ranged attacks. Leave touch damage where its at so it kills those ranged classes if they get too close. But turn the ranged damage into something like 5-5.5k tops. From my understanding an unwashed ranged character at higher levels will still be close to 6k hp? You can tell me if I'm wrong or not, because I'm only guessing. It will remove the necessity of HP washing, and make the game able to be played at much higher levels without washing. This idea pertains to HT only. Toad and Body Guard and company and mini bosses, should all stay the same, because those are a less prominent factor than HT. This is purely just food for thought. Hate the idea or love it. Thats up to you. But it would still make HP Washing a requirement for Toad and other bosses, while opening up HT to many people who aren't washed on ranged characters at much higher levels.
Suggested this to Matt before about nerfing HT's damage. Got replied with "get a HB and it's still possible" instead.
I thought of this idea before but if the boss damage is changed then it won't be as challenging. Moreover, it is doable with HB for non washed or minimal wash characters. The only good way of solving hp washing is adjusting the hp curve as we level up or simply putting ap reset on npc (this will make hp washing easier and decrease the ap reset price as well).
I have another idea actually. HP washing is basically a cheat/glitch abuse by itself so why not go further and just make an item that gives you HP without needing any MP/INT? The amount of HP you'd get would be the same like what the resets give but the price to buy the item would be higher (maybe 5-6k nx each). This way you don't have to make a mage first but just play normally and later when you get rich you could buy as many as you want at the same time.
Lol you'd have to ban more than half of the server if you did that, even the GMs themselves would get banned. Although technically speaking washing is a glitch abuse, it isn't any different than the old infinite transform TL glitch or others bugs. When you wash you willingly exploit a bug in the game's system to gain an advantage. AP resets are meant for people who made mistakes in allocating stats to reset them, similar to SP resets. In fact Nexon banned people for this type of glitch before
Sorry, I don't think so. It's easy to see: HT, Toad and the BOSS are designed for those who did washing HP. Nexon is able to ban ppl because the engineers have adjusted the HP/MP setting. But, TL isn't designed for this kind of bugs. These two examples are so much different.
I wonder if it would be possible, but the actual GMS mechanics would be the perfect way to your idea. GMS's bosses nowadays do percentual damage instead of specific damage. Ex: Zakum lightning makes your HP down to 300 instead of doing 3200 damage, doesn't matter what is your max HP.
I think HP Washing Is A unique part of royals by now where theres actually a difficulty, or a goal and target to aim for. Nerfing the damage taken By Nightlords might make them too OP in a way, which is their only drawback. I'd make a NL/BM sed mule if i can take less damage from horntail anyday! It was a a great good food for thought though!
