    Hi Royallers,

    We're currently working on several things for the next patch & update (Update 54), and wanted to give a progress update, release some information in regards to what will be coming in the update, as well mention some potential future implementations we are considering.

    We are making good progress on update 54, and this is expected to be released within the next couple of weeks. Update 54 will bring the ability to delete characters, increased account security with optional PIN & PIC, channel fullness bars, character rankings (in-game), a vast amount of backend improvements, as well as other general bug fixes. Alongside this update will be the release of the belated Easter event, with details being announced during the update, new game files will also be made available and required to be downloaded for this update.

    We have also been looking into possible solutions to help alleviate issues surrounding the lack of HP to be able to do certain bosses, HP washing in general and AP resets. We've been listening to your feedback regarding character HP and how it's an issue for some content and we've taken your suggestions in consideration as well as adding some of our own ideas. Things that we are currently considering to implement or make changes to include:
    • Increasing maxHP on job advancement medals.
    • Implementing a quest that rewards you with HP each time you complete it, up to a cap.
    • Adding maxHP to Mu Lung Dojo Belts (Will be made available with the release of Mu Lung Dojo).
    • Implementing a maxHP medal available from a quest related to GPQ.
    • Increasing the amount of maxHP gained from job advancements (This will retroactively be refunded to players who have already advanced).
    • Implementing the Mark of Naricain with it's default +300 maxHP with the release of CWKPQ.
    • Implementing a craftable potion which temporarily increases the player's maxHP.

    We are yet to decide on specifics for some of the above, however we are targeting to make available a boost of around 2000 HP for anyone not a Mage or Warrior, and around 4000 HP for Warriors.

    We will also be releasing two forum events starting this weekend, stay tuned for details.

    Looking ahead to update 55, progress with CWKPQ is going very well and a significant portion of the Party Quest is already fully working. It will still take until after Update 54 has been released and no major issues are found until it can be finalised, however the update will not take as long and should be ready fairly soon after update 54. We also intend to re-release the buyback command during this update. Following that, GPQ is on our agenda for update 56!

    If that gpq quest medal is implemented that would be lit! The hp is a bonus, I'm just glad more people will be potentially gpqing because of it.

    When you say "a boost of around 2000 HP for anyone not a Mage or Warrior, and around 4000 HP for Warriors." is that 2000/4000 the total sum of all the bonuses, or from each thing?

    Basically a total boost of 2k estimate or 2k estimate per thing done

    Very happy to hear about CWKPQ and MoN becoming available in the near future. Rankings and channel fullness is an exciting addition as well - hopefully web based rankings are something being considered in the future?

    Is there any intent or interest in adding Scarlion/Targa down the road, or is that entirely out of the realm of possibilities?

    Despite being entirely against the whole HP washing is too hard nonsense, out of all of the suggestions, I think that increasing the HP gained through job advancements alongside adding more HP to the medals is a far less impactful option. Possibly make it so that while it still increases your HP, it doesn't actually stop the requirement to HP wash if you want to boss without HB, it only limits how much washing one has to do by lowering the amount of HP you need to attain through it (so, for example, say a NL had to wash 5k-random number-to be able to do every boss at 155 before, they now only have to wash 2.5k, or something like that). I don't think that the approach of making it so that one can attain the desired HP without any washing whatsoever is wise, but making it easier to attain through washing is a much more fair balance between the variety of viewpoints. It's still easier, more affordable, and less time consuming, but it's not eliminating HP washing as a concept if you desire HB-less bossing. I also want to remind you that this may impact the desirability of DrK, as one of their main benefits for some parties is their HB for the people who aren't heavily washed enough to run without it (or for buyers). There will be less incentive for people to bring them along on runs.

    The numbers thrown around for this were just for the gain through the repeatable quest, and doing the quest the maximum number of times would gain you for all alternative options together giving you the 2k or 4k HP.
    But it wouldn't be an easy quest.
    Edit : apparently during my lapse in the chat I missed that the 2k and 4k were total gains through any or all implemented HP washing alternatives.
    My bad!

    Now that the team is working on crimsonwood stuff, is there any plans to add stims to fiona for item crafting?, or making the weapons you get from the exchange have randomized stats?*god system*

    You'd still need to wash with a 2000 HP boost, you get around 4500 HP at level 155 and HT can hit more than double of that.
    And HB is still pretty useful even if everyone wash cause it increases the survival chance of everyone, and Drk now also have the Armor Crash skill that is useful for a party and increase their damage.

    I really like these potential solutions for character maxHP:
    "Implementing a quest that rewards you with HP each time you complete it, up to a cap.
    Implementing a maxHP medal available from a quest related to GPQ.
    Increasing the amount of maxHP gained from job advancements (This will retroactively be refunded to players who have already advanced).
    Implementing a craftable potion which temporarily increases the player's maxHP."

    I think the combination of these 4 are pretty well balanced between freebies and grinding.

    I'm hyped for the Easter Event! Bring it on. =)

    It appears-according to Muff's edit above-that I misinterpreted the OP and thought that the 2k HP boost would be repeatable, or that there would be possibly multiple additions that could total more than 2k. Apparently we're on the same page (to an extent), and that is great. Happy to hear.

    For a high HP NL who survives HT fine without HB it just isn't worth it to sacrifice time/dps to have a DrK when there are other options (ranged) who make the run more profitable for everybody (less time spent to earn the same amount of $). Don't get me wrong, I certainly wish that were true though. Even if some still do, at the very least, it will reduce their desirability for *some*. Unfortunately adding more overall HP will never be a benefit (desirability wise) for a class whose main party skill is HP boosting.

    I'm not sure about that, the ability to cancel the def up is pretty strong. Def up can decrease your damage from 33k to 28k or something so that ability can give a significant damage boost.
    Also with the new message when the arm is at low HP you could keep hitting multiple targets for a longer time too.
    I had some runs where they had both a Drk and a bucc and they were still pretty fast (and buccs are actually very useful too, you get multiple res and echo for the whole run)

    If HP updates come through, DRK might be like the ultimate character for unfunded now. Can get to 18k pre HB with no washing themselves if given 5k extra :)

    Also if this update in any way encourages people to not wash or wash less, in some way it could increase DRK demand for HB.

    DRK is already very strong compared to other warriors with HB, power crash, and potentially highest damage.

    So in short, I think DRK should still be happy with this, but just my opinion.

    Thanks for reading our posts about hp washing! And thanks for telling us about it. Can we count on it for the future? Because I will be altering my hp washing plans if thats the case.

    These are likely the best options. The maxHP from medal is the freebie.
    The others you work for.

    Im hoping the quest option would be somewhat difficult and involves character-bound items so people can't just buy it.

    The worst part about the craftable potion is that it would further the push away of DKs so im not sure about that.
    And the GPQ reward is okay, but it puts a pretty big requirement from guilds to run the PQ a lot. Smaller guilds might have a hard time expanding for this.

    The GPQ is not very made in the game because of its prizes that are not very good, why not make the GPQ medal with the ability to increase your HP according to the amount of GPQ you do (obviously would have a limit), that could encourage people to go to GPQ. Increasing the time in the bonus of the GPQ would be very useful, there are people who play with a little delay and after the warp to the bonus map, they end up wasting time until the warp.
