So the Character Name Change is currently about £10 or about $14. I think I understand the reason. If it were easy to change IGN all the time people could scam and get away with it easily. The reason I'm making this thread is because I can see that the char deletion update is coming soon. Me and a lot of my friends have the same problem, a lot of us made characters with an IGN we really liked, but then realized we had to restart for some reason or another. So we had to come up with a new name for our new chars, maybe something we didnt like as much. I'm not saying that $14 is expensive, but when I donate I'd rather spend the points on fun cosmetic stuff instead of correcting something that was a consequence of the server features at the time. So my suggestion is that maybe for a week or two, allow people 1 free name change. Thanks for reading.
I'd not say "Free"... but it could be an event reward sometime. It's not something people would be able to make money -as in there would not be any change in the game at all- and lots of people would go crazy into it to get one.
It's a little unfair towards people who have spent the money on IGN change previously. What I suggest is... think of a new IGN that you will like even more!
The people who have bought IGN change in the past wasn't for this specific reason, unless they bought one to change the messed up chars name first, then the other to change the new chars name. $28 for a name change, yeah doubt anyone did that. So I don't think this idea is unfair at all. Charging money to fix a consequence of missing server features is more unfair imo.
Name changes were allowed for 20 RP points. I don't know the equivalent in $$$ but yeah. I bought it before but only because the name I wanted was blocked by Nexon. I believe if you own both names, you can swap the names using only 1 name change (at least this is how it worked before new source + the character name change item in the CS) But then again, it was done manually and required a database admin to do it. Idk I think a name is just a name and it isn't very detrimental to your game experience, so I don't really think they should give people a free name change. If it is that important to you, you should just donate and help the server.
Fair enough. I wouldn't have made a thread if it were just me, my friends are also attached to their old names, and I know they wouldnt donate $14 for a name change. It would be a nice gesture for the players, but not detrimental of course.
From a 3rd world country player, $14 is rather expensive for me. I'd love to donate, get some cool weapon covers and hairs, but it's really hard for me. Also, if you played this game for over a year, you noticed that every year the events are pretty much the same. Same quests, same mobs, same bosses, same drops, same prizes. Having something different wouldn't be bad for the game.
I would have no problem donating except it shows up in my PayPal as 10GBP, which translates to over one day's minimum wage in my country ... not including the fees for going from my local currency>USD>whatever ends up being charged (because that's how my bank works). Please either do a temporary heavy discount or lower the price by an amount indefinitely so people like me have a chance to save enough monies for it <3
Not if it's just 1 free change per person. Any extra should cost the usual 20rp. I'd imagine that most people are happy with their IGNs. Anyone I've met who needs the name change is because they had a name they liked but can't delete the character.
Pleaseeee T_T This would be bring in so much extra "donations", and help players purchase RP items that they've always wanted. Win-win scenario for everyone!!
