    Hi,

Report threads were previously visible to all and subsequently hidden to protect the reporters. It's a good move in ensuring that players can have a safe channel to air their concerns toward other players.

However i feel that we should have an option to allow people to opt for their report to be viewable as well. I've often seen in shoutboxes where people ask when their reports will be reviewed and if there is any action going to be taken.

It would be good to have a section viewable to all. With this, players are aware of the rough number or reports the GMs have to go through before addressing theirs. This is also more transparent overall, as all players are free to see both reports and the bans to get a complete picture of a story.

While some would choose to maintain privacy, i feel that having a viewable section would be beneficial.

I am writing this in the capacity of someone who has submitted a report recently, and this could be clouding my judgement, but it is what i feel at this point in time.

    John

P.S really liked how the "like" function is disabled in the ban appeals threads. Great to know that the little voices on the forums are being heard.

There's no such feature by default. A section's visibility is either open to public, or restricted based on your user permission (in this case, only staff can see it).

But, a work around would be to have another section where reports are visible. So one private, one public.

Having a channel where we can report abuse in full view of all users is something I'd really want, and would definitely show transparency in the decision making process behind bans and rejected reports.

The report abuse section was previously completely visible to all and I strongly feel that we can benefit from having both options available.

Or to give the option like a check mark or something before creating the thread expressing whether you want the report to be private or public

Haha I wouldn't go as far as saying Martin is a little voice.

Are you just asking to revert it back to both a public and private section? They changed it from that to completely private, so I doubt they would change it back.

I'd also like to add that in my case at least, it's fairly obvious that the staff aren't the only ones that are aware of my report.

oops. Forgot who actually posted the suggestion.

+1 Support. I used to scan through report abuse threads in my newbie days and I learned a lot from it. Seeing which report got accepted and which not, taught me how the report format should be structured and how much evidence is required before making a legit report etc. Through rejected reports, everyone will also be able to find out that nonsense reasoning cannot work to report someone.

Just wanted to chime in about your report and how long it took to process. It was a rather complicated case and staff had a few discussions about it in between other important things which is why it actually took so long to respond to it. In retrospect it might have been good to reply to your report that this was the case so you weren't just left hanging. This might actually just been good practice to any reports that are more complicated.
