Okay so I played back in 2015/2016 and quit due to reasons and am now coming back in 2018... Now I'm wondering what happened to the playerbase?! Back then there was easily 1500+ players online at any given time.. now its 700-800.. what happened?!
People get bored, they leave. People get interested, they join. Some are waiting for more contents to be implemented. There are so many reasons as to why the population is declining, but we're doing our best to reverse that, and that can only be done with contents that players want to see being implemented (or at least it being one of the few reasons) which we are working very hard on. And I supposed you're referring to the population at around this time of the day, especially in Singapore where school term has started for most players. So I'm not surprised if the population dipped a fair bit!
Back then there was less alternatives and less staff issues. Also people getting fed up of RWT diminishing everything they do.
What is there to do you leech up to 140 do bosses thats it. same 5 classes no new content that is really entertaining all it is, is more bosses. CPQ which was my favorite is not working. Im sure if they added like cygnus or even just DB it would surge in popularity again since we would have something new.
I feel like the reason why MapleRoyals is so popular is because it's so loyal and so strongly (not in all ways, ofc) resembles the MapleStory of back then when there were only the 5 main Adventurers. Adding Cygnus could be like the first of many changes to, sure make the game fresh again, but MapleRoyals would no longer be what got me and so many others into it.
