I have a level 30 bandit right now, and i heard HP washing is essential in order to survive being 1hkoed by zakum and BF. is this really true? What is their touch damage?

HP washing is seriously expensive for a newb like me.

Washing is not necessary for any class for zakum. LONG before you are useful as an attacker, you will be able to tank a hit. By the time you are useful, you will be able to tank a hit without hyper body, unless you mean touch.... But you shouldn't be taking touch from zak bodies.

There is a little washing needed for sins, archers and sairs to tank HT. Bandits, although they have the same ho as sins, get mesoguard which cuts damage taken in half, so no problems there.

Finally, washing enough to tank Bigfoot would cost hundreds of millions for a bandit, even with mesoguard. You only have to worry about touch damage from him though, so you can just rely on darksight and not get hit.

Short answer, no. You don't need to wash.

I had 60 int until level 70, 80 int until ~level 95 and 100 int until level 130. I have enough HP to HT at level 131, with ~35 extra washes that I haven't used (and probably never will.)

I gained 1 wash per 2 levels from 10 to 70 (30 washes) 2 washes per 3 levels from 70 to 95 (8 washes), and 1 wash per 1.2 levels from 95 to 130 (~30 washes). Add to that a normal character without base int will be able to wash usually ~12 times by level 120, and you can see that ~55 washes got me enough HP to do HT 30 levels before it would be worth it for me to go, let alone before I would be useful, with the only equip giving me HP being a dep star.

Bowmen gain an average of around 18 HP per level up, so by the time I'm actually of the level to HT, I'll have almost 600 excess HP, and 40 unused washes (another potential ~700 HP).

With that in mind, I think that having ~20-30 base int (or just picking up an overall, wooden wand, or cape to wear on level ups) and getting your dep star and zhelm at 50 instead of waiting for 95 like I did, as well as actually washing out all your spare MP is more than enough to HT by 160. If you did base int in this case, I would wash it out when you stop using a strless bow - probably 90 or 100 for metus or nisrock.

    P.S. -
Nightlords will need slightly fewer washes than BM's as they gain an average of 4 more HP per level up and per wash than BMs do. Corsairs will need slightly more INT, as they require more MP to do a single wash, buy gain the same HP as BM's. With corsairs however, you want to stay as close to the minimum HP (5.6k for HT) as you possibly can anyway.

Thank you for the very insightful and timely response that's refreshing to hear that I won't need to spend billions like I see a lot of people doing here. That exactly the kind of information I've been looking for.

Bandit, aye? Let me just take a short extract from my guide about HP washing...

As for Bowmen, the above posts already answered it pretty accurately.
