Yes, they were very harsh on me. Being famous on-line makes many people jealous and they become haters, haters of quality content producers such as myself.

Yes, I am famous on-line and I relish every single waking moment of it. I am TomBrady.

TBH I completely agree with OP. too many people take royals waaaaaay too seriously. its a maplestory private server at the end of the day, and while I do plan on bossing and putting myself among the elite players eventually, I always get a super asshole vibe from people. I've been removed from 2 BL's for seemingly no reason at all... guess i wasnt buying leech and getting to 120 fast enough... lol, and yesterday I did my first LMPQ ever, (gave the party the disclaimer about how i had never done it and had no clue what i was doing, but was told not to worry) I was a bit slow in my very first, but I quickly got the hang of it and people were still kinda bitching out at me even though I explained it was my first time and i did indeed get flowing... kinda makes me not wanna pq anymore. Ive been a bit disappointed with people and there definitely is a cliquish vibe so i totally level with that. I wish there was more sense of community as I feel like 90% of the time ive played im not really talking to people outside of trading in the fm. I was in one guild and everyone was really cool and they all quit (some because of reasons in this thread) and it hasnt been nearly the same since :p

Also I made a bandit because I played a DIT in my GMS days and i've always loved the class, and I keep getting shit on by people because "Shadowers are a bad class in end game" -_- like dude this is a nostalgic private server and its a playable class in the game, if i want to have fun with a bandit, that shouldnt hinder me and make people standoffish toward me, I think its really a shame. sorry, not everyone gives a shit about doing the strongest, most efficient HT / Krex runs, theres more to the game than that.

    The royals community is harsh.

I was enjoying my climb to the big boys Marksman club until I heard @Buccaneer was buying up white neshcheres :(

I don't believe there is such thing as a bad class, every class contributes something in game or boss runs. If you are passionate about a certain class, go ahead and play it because you can strive in whatever class you play. In addition, I feel more rewarding playing an underrated or challenging class instead of following what the majority play. Also, it is more impressive if you can get to 200 with an underrated class; people would usually go "Wow, its a 200 Shadower!!"

    Casual grinder scrub here.
I have found, doing what you enjoy will be a lot more fun than trying to get someplace you think will be fun. If you enjoy the road, you'll enjoy the destination. I've got a dozen or so characters ranging from late 4th, to not even 2nd job, and I've never sat there and hated what I was doing, or felt pressured by other players to do something because it's the meta, or what have you. (Sounds very fortune-cookie, I know). I'm honestly probably a bit naive and socially inept, so I don't notice it... lol

I've met some pretty strong people, and the guild I am in, it's discord is a hodge-podge of actual guild members, other staff, ironscrubs (love you guys), level 200 grinders, bossers of all levels and skill (who come from all walks of life), and other random succers (@Dre ) and the one common factor between the strong and weak I know, is they're friends. If you want to join the guild, or grind with me, or be friends, or pretty much anything, you just have to ask because when I'm in game, I'm pretty quiet and off by myself killing something stupid like those bears in Mu Lung. If I'm not afk (which is a VERY likely possibility), I'll respond. I'd like to think my guild isn't clique-y, because to me, if holds negative connotations. Describing your guild as cliquey, to me, says "We're not looking to make new friends, we have what we want" because that's pretty much the definition, because I think it's safe to say we're all here under a shared interest of playing Maplestory. I'm a little bias of course, but I've been on the receiving end of some pretty bad cliques since middleschool, all the way through college and into grad school, and it's taken me till I was nearly 25 to realize that my best friend, my career path I love, hobbies, and experiences I've collected over the years all happened because I was denied access to those cliques that at the time felt so desirable. We are a sum of our experiences, and looking back, of course hindsight is 20/20, I wouldn't change it, because at any moment, I could have drove down a completely different path in life and right now, I am genuinely very happy and it pains me to think how I could have missed it.

Am I sometimes envious of those stronger players? Of course. I'd love a better weapon, or something better than my 4 attack, 4 slot, PAC (A personal best here. ~f18) but I can safetly say when I see a strong player, friend or foe a like (cause I'll be the first to say I've burnt some bridges), I am never jealous of them (because what I have, what I love, no one can take away from me).

    I'm rambling though.
If you want to be the strongest there ever was and you find enjoyment in that challenge you should, and chances are you'll cross paths with both strong players and weak players, elite guilds, and scrub guilds (like Caveman ~f17), and I just hope people don't lose sight of the potential friends you'll make along the way to your goals, and I hope you never feel the pressure from any of them to do something, to the point where it wears you down and you start to question the things you do that you find fun.

We're all here for a fun time. We're all really, not that much different.
