Update on the update? It's already June Dawg.

 

From a mixed player/staff viewpoint, I can tell you all this is a massive update. I haven't seen so many changes happening since January 1st 2017. And since there were some issues with the new source launch, extensive testing is being done on the parts of the update that have been finished. I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to divulge so I have to be obscure, but I'm super hyped for this update and all the improvements that are coming with it. So many new things are being introduced, so many issues are being fixed, and the game as a whole will be so much more stable. This update is paving the way for future patches to be much easier for the development team, which means more updates more often.
I also can understand the frustration of having it delayed for so long, and I'm sure everyone here including all the staff would agree with my expressing great thanks for the patience shown.

why do these 'events' have to cater to holidays that most players probably don't celebrate, why not just be an event without it being some constrained idea like easter

I'd imagine it's pretty difficult to invent holiday events, from a technical and creative standpoint. Besides, your statement was pretty broad and kind've presumptuous. what's wrong with Easter? You don't like rabbits or colorful eggs? what's wrong with the other events? what kind've events would you like to see? do you have any other input aside from "I hate most events, make me ones I like."?
