After reading Plenty's thread about storing mesos on an alt (and thus losing it from frederick), and remembering a past situation where something like this happened before (someone earned more than max mesos through merchant sales), I was reminded of something that we had back on a previous game I used to play. In Flyff, you can convert 100mil "penya" (our equivalent of mesos) into a single cold coin "Perin" by buying it from an NPC. This cold coin allowed you to store large amounts of money without hitting "max money". At any time you could double click the coin and you'd lose the coin and regain the 100 mill back. You can also trade the coins to other players for easier transactions. How feasible would something like that be for here? An NPC that sells you a gold coin for 100mil (or 1bil, if that would be better). That gold coin could be double clicked to get the money back into pure mesos (or even sold back to an NPC). Just thought it would be a decent idea to think about. In Flyff this is what it looked like:
I'm im favor of this idea and have seen it done on servers before. Side note; please tell me that's a pserver and not retail cause that is a lot of fuarking penya. (Former flyffer as well)
Full support. Now I don't need to make multiple mules to store mesos. I suggest this item to be worth 1B because making 1B isn't too difficult and storing 100M+ in your inventory isn't too much of a hassle. Maybe the NPC for this item can be in the Free Market.
It sounds like a good idea, it's something that higher rate servers tend to use. I can't imagine how long it'll take to implement now that the person devoted solely to developing is gone.
They would need to be made untradeable or else people would just use them to bypass the trade/shop tax. It would also be easier for people to get away with duping, since you're basically able to destroy the evidence.
People already do that though ^ By using shop merchants. What's the point of the tax anyway & does anyone even care about it?
There actually is no tax if you trade with a shop merchant. I basically use a shop to trade even the most menial things because of it.
Wow! i thought i was the only one who played Flyff ( Fly for fun!) here. The idea without a doubt works but to an extent. Having penya duped would be a hassle; even the chances of tracking it would be difficult. maybe we can include a forums verification ? 1. Have a section dedicated to transferring 2 billion to 1 penya (vise-versa). 2. With a requirement of min level 50. 3. (Feel free to add)
I would assume if someone was able to have enough money to make coins worth either 100 mil or 1 bil then they would have had a shop by then. I'm all for this method as its also problematic paying for items worth more than 2.1 bil atm.
My main concern with this idea would be (as mentioned by Ague) duping. Individual items of extremely high value are pretty much temptation on a plate in terms of abusing them.
What dev left? I wouldent mind if they had to be untradble for the system to be put in place, if thats whats going to protect them from being duped then the idea is now flawless.
I'm sorry but I hate this kind of system and I don't want it in the game. It's usually what easy servers do.
I wouldn't say that this is an "easy" server, but we do have 2x meso and 2x drop, a "godly" system and free NX. Money is easily obtained and it's very easy to surpass 2.1bil. It was just a suggestion to ease up on storing money without having to hold it across several accounts, or risk getting glitched through Frederick- or other things.
Lets say that someone is almost having the max amount of mesos. If he sets up a store, and people buy from him, it is his responsibility to transfer the already existed mesos (Maybe to the storage?) before he'll windraw the mesos he earned. I mean come on, people need to have some awareness. And also, there are ways to avoid situations like that. If you know that you're gonna get more than the allowed amount of mesos, remove some of the items in your shop. It doesn't mean that we'll have to set up an entire system just because people forget or not having responsibility. I'm not mad or anything like it, but imo there is nothing which justifies this kind of a system. A simple awareness will solve everything.
