Let's be real here. Since you can have up to nearly 15B pure mesos on one account (with 6 characters and a storage) who would really benefit from an update like this that's vulnerable for meso exploits? There is no transfer fee in your storage for meso. Also I'm pretty sure the amount of people that have access to this kind of pure meso can be counted on one hand.
It'd be real comfortable for the wealthy though. Trading some items in particular *cough* 134 att skis *cough* would be very simple with high value "tokens"!
This argument is so flawed. How much did it actually do to combat inflation in GMS? Virtually nothing. Inflation is inevitable and comes from a variety of sources. The main cause of inflation in any game is the fact that you can get money from monsters and NPCs. Which would be the equivalent of people printing their own money. If you want more money, just hunt/grind more at high meso yielding areas. The more people hunt, the more mesos there are to go around, the higher prices get. Simple economics. Then there's also the raising population. With more people earning mesos through hunting, the market becomes more saturated with them, driving up prices. More people also means more demand across the board, with varying differences on supply. When demand rises, so do prices, so does inflation. So to say a merchant tax would curb inflation in an online game is fundamentally flawed. Maybe it'll slow the rate of inflation, but it would be by such an infintesimal amount that it wouldn't matter.
Tax from trading was probably implanted in GMS for making players buy the merchants, the "problem" occurs when in this server you get NX for free, and quite a lot, thus making regular trading not worthy. Moreover, taxes when trading isn't something new to gaming. A lot of games implement this feature(ex. Fifa) in order to prevent consequences such as inflation or huge money differences between rich and poor players.
I never said that this is GMS. All I said was that this server has a lot of GMS similarities, and that I think this should be one of them. Again, have some awareness. If you're going to have more than the allowed mesos on your inventory, move it to another character before you windraw it. Like Robb said, you can have 15b mesos on one account, which is pretty much enough for anything you want. And I also agree with John, saving and never spending is just boring and has no purpose.
All your posts just scream "I hate convenience and comfort, keep things the same just because". You don't seem to give any reasons to NOT add this feature, other than that you personally dislike it and you believe people should be more aware when dealing with their money, which I'm sure everybody will agree are not very valid arguments. Sure you can hold ~15b mesos on each account, but in a private server where we have the capability to remove a lot of the objectively negative aspects of the game, why limit ourselves at all in that regard? Because you've seen it a lot in "easy" servers? Because you don't want it? Because you believe people should never make any mistakes ever? You keep defending the most ridiculous points and it makes you come across as a jerk. I'd love for you to respond with real reasons as to why this shouldn't be implemented, without the use of the terms "nostalgia," or "GMS-like".
Can we stop being so antagonistic towards certain players? Everyone has their own opinion and this is why this feedback thread was created in the first place. Gags feels that isn't nostalgic and GMS-like. Okay. You don't agree with them? Fine. But don't start calling them a jerk because you disagree. In fact, I would argue that their point of it not being nostalgic and GMS-like is a good counterpoint to others' points that it would be more convenient to hold a godly amount of mess. In GMS, when rates were 1/1/1, there were plenty of times where things weren't easy and for lack of a better word, I real pain. For example, look at the 4th job quest where you're bouncing between Leafre andVictoria or 3rd job between El Nath and Victoria. Let's also not forget that in GMS, you had to wait for the boat from Orbis and didn't have the express option that we offer here. So if not making a gold coin worth 2b mesos seems to uphold the nostalgia and GMS-like factors of the game Gags refers to, then I would agree with that statement. Doesn't necessarily mean I agree it is a reason to NOT make the gold coins, but the facts behind the statement are correct. Play nice please...
After reading everything I am genuinly interested in knowing the amount of people that own over 15 bil mesos.
More than you think, probably, since I've noticed some serious inflation take place. It's not just Mike and Raddy who are rich anymore, either.
Well first of all, relax. You're just being mean and rude. I already said my reasoning. I already said why I don't like this idea. I have nothing against Sila or her ideas. In fact, I find her very effecting in MapleRoyals' community and for her to go and like your post, which is, like I said, very rude and mean is just unbelieveable and ridiculous. If you don't like my damn points, or don't find it valid, that is your choice. No one forces you. I'd also like to add, what's the problem with that? This is enough for being a vaild argument. And why? well if you didn't noticed, this is the feedback section. Sila asks for our opnions. This is my opinion. The thing is, it's not valid for you only because you dislike it. And also, all of that interpretation that you did on me, not true. And personally, I don't know you well enough to be offended. My screamy posts? yeah, sadly for you, you'll keep seeing them. Now, can you actually focus on the actual subject of the thread instead of me? thanks
I "like" posts when I agree with some of the content- usually means I'll go back and reply to it in depth when I have the chance . Your reasons are just as valid as others, which is why I made the thread- to try and see ideas and find a nice middle ground that a lot of people would be happy with. I'll reply back on topic when I crawl out of bed- replying from an iPod isn't efficient.
Now that I'm awake: This was the main point I agreed with. We're on a private server, a way for us to remove the negative aspects of a game we all love. We've already removed the boat timer, we removed the expiration date of NX items and we have them so they're tradeable too. A lot of things differ between original GMS and here- which is why we have a place for suggestions like this. A lot of things have been changed around in this server for convenience sake, and things are constantly changing- which is why a lot of us are so drawn to it too. The main idea behind this suggestion is ease of convenience. I'm not one of the people who would personally be affected by this- I've never made more than 1bil because I'm more of a passive player (and I like to blow my money on random stuff too). However, I know people who do make that much money from boss runs and such easily- and I've seen the myriad of ways that things can become glitched, or troublesome. The main concern I see with this is the duping possibility. Even if they were untradeable, the idea is that there would be a way to basically reverse it and get the pure money back from the item. Say it was a golden leaf- you purchased the golden leaf from an NPC for 1bil (random amount chosen for now) and you have 100m left. A month later (assuming you havent made more money since then- just for ease of simplicity) you see something worth 1.1bil in store. So you re-sell the leaf (or double click to open it, something to that effect) to regain your 1bil back, and the maple leaf disappears. Because they'd be worth so much, they'd be high duping targets- as Ague and Kat both said. That's the major drawback that I can see, and I don't know a possible solution to make it not so big of a deal. If they were left tradeable, that would make selling high-value items much easier- especially ones that cost more than max mesos. It wouldn't rely on trust between both parties, there would be a lower risk of being scammed, and less possibility for a GM needing to be involved. That's one big plus IMO.
At the same time, what's stopping the dupers in duping other high value NPCable items and selling them via NPC? Either way, duping shouldn't hinder this idea. The main reason why I hoard mesos is because either the market is overpricing certain items like White Scrolls or Chaos Scrolls or people will often sell their perfect items for billion upon billions. Another reason is that I would sometimes make more than the market can keep up with the supply of White Scrolls and Chaos Scrolls as well as other equipment that people usually scroll. Because there are so many people interested in these kinds of items leads me to hoard as much as possible.
A middle ground sounds good. I'd like to say that I think you handled this situation pretty well, I was expecting a completely other reaction xD Good morning btw.
A good middle ground would be to fix Fredrick's meso storing capabilities and prevent issues like mine here and Justice.
The thing is, I'm not sure if I undetstand what happened to you. You opened a mule account, put 2 Speed Pills in 4b meso, entered your main and bought them, but you didn't received the mesos on your mule?
I was testing to see if Fredrick would be able to hold beyond the max limit like my Help and Advice thread questioned. Turns out Fredrick just bugs out.
