So... lately I been wondering how minority classes get into boss runs. Therefore, I made this general discussion for the community (minority classes) to share here. You can share about your experience here whether it is frustrating or not I will share a little bit of my experience as a buccaneer: 1.I had no problem leveling up to 135 with party quests, training and free leeches 2. When I reached to 135, I wanted to do Zakum/Krexel but no one took me so I decided to join a guild and started to make connections but that wasnt enough so I decided to form my own parties 3. When I reached to 150ish, people started adding me to their runs but I continued to host my own parties 4. Fast forward... HT came back in new source, I wanted to HT but no one took me once agian so I decided to host my own HT runs in two parties (smega whoever wants to try out HT) or join the two parties HT 5. From there I made connections with the people there and eventually they gave me a shot at HT. However, the connections/friends that I made from Zakum was useful because some of them would invite me to HT or atleast gave me a chance so I am grateful for that 6.Reached 200!
Honestly it’s weird to me that I see people getting denied into boss runs. I wouldn’t deny a person that would like to come along for a boss run. The more the merrier I feel, plus it’s another chance for me to make a friend. I loved the community aspect of Maplestory and I never once got denied a boss run because of range/ job. Late congratulations on 200 btw! Edit: On GMS I didn’t get denied, on here I’ve been denied a few times.
The problem is that there are some tryhard elitists that value their splits/exp over the social aspect of bossing. Nothing wrong with that though. Although I love bossing with new people, I can’t count how many times I’ve joined a random run just for everyone to dc/die (including me on occasion o3o).
Yeah that’s true lol. I giggle every time someone has 20k+ HP at dies at Zak. When people die or D/C and there’s two people left it’s time to go try hard and apple. :^)
That is true, I feel like alot of people don't know how to fit in a shad in HT. The possible formation that I thought of is 1. Shad + three ranges (NLs/Corsairs) + BM/MM +Bishop 2. Shad + 1range NLs/Corsairs + 1Bucc +1Drk/Hero/Pally +BM/MM + Bishop 3. Shad + 1Drk/Hero + 2ranges(NLs or 1NL/1Corsair) + BM/MM +Bishop 4. Shad + 3Melee (1Bucc and two other melee)+ BM/MM + Bishop ***Sed target is either shad or the melee depending on how comfortable you are or whatever is best to maximize dps ***These formation varies depending on you and who is available and you can try it out and see what's the most efficient
I was talking to my guild members about this and most people would rather take a Hero then a Shad because they dish out more damage even if Shadowers have MG and SS. Also Shads are limited to Assasinate20 because guild PQ doesnt work
i used to play a shadower until i conformed and made a NL and bishop a lot of the time i tried to join a zak run or a krex run and people said like "lol who wants a shadower" no one really wanted me for boss runs so i gave up and just did solo krex which took like an hour long each i met fellow shadowers who were in the same boat so we just did trio krex in like 15 minutes it was great none of us play our shadowers anymore personally i regret ever playing shadower but its sad that a lot of the minority classes aren't viable not only in the fact that they don't do as much damage as a NL but also they dont have good party buffs like SE or SI which greatly discourages people from playing them id like to see more diversity in classes in which 90% of the population isnt NL/bishop
Shadower is actually really op in zak/krex if you can drop fast and drop+atk and things like that I saw some shadowers white NLs easily in zak and kill him in below 15 minutes
Shad shouldn't be too bad in zak or krex if they know what they are doing. Also, I feel like there is a misconception of shadower (people assumed shadower only mesos explosion but in reality they have other skills such as assassinate and boomerangstep). However, assassinate 30 is disable right now due to fixes of gpq. *** You don't even need to drop fast and atk @Ayane, mouse key is good enough. I think you should just play whatever you like, work hard, resist ppl belittling your class as every class can strive. As for Toad, I haven't witness a shad yet... For HT, I have tried bombing, you can only bomb on top of prehead, legs, wings from the left, head a/c, it's simply a bad map to bomb. As I heard from other shads assassinate 30+ Bstep 30 can out damage mesos explosion (not sure what gears you need for this).
I think you're pretty accurate. When I was high 13x / low 14x I'd have to leave my client afk on second monitor watching smegas all evening if I wanted to boss, with maybe a 60%-70% chance over 5 hours to find a party. I added everyone who I partied, and over time bossed through buddy list, eventually transitioning into bossing with guild. Trying to join random parties is definitely a waste of time though.
I have done duo toad on my NL with a friend shadower @NamerUse and his dps was pretty much the same as that of an average NL.
