In my opinion the loot is gone rule is a tad too short. Let's say someone needs to go to the toilet urgently, has to walk all the way downstairs because his home doesn't have a toilet upstairs... Then has to go all the way back. So let's assume more than 3 minutes (the actual time loot stays is 3 minutes) I remember back in the old days of Maple Europe before 4th job, it would be 15 minutes you had until your map was lost. But that obviously doesn't work in this server. Expecting people to do their ''needs'' within 3 minutes is a little too few if you ask me. I think we should add some minutes to this non-official rule that relates to map ownership. Also, if your Bishop isn't there, and no one is attacking doesn't automatically mean he is/wasn't using the map. Perhaps someone is selling their equip inventory? Bringing it up to 5 or 6 minutes would sound reasonable but I don't believe 3 minutes is enough for this matter.
Side topic: Something needs to be done about the skele situation. You can't exactly say "there are other options!" like you can to people in the ghost ship levels. There is no alternative to the best 120-200 map when the difference is hours per level.
If this thread was called, Skele Map Ownership, then this would be a viable option, but I think MyungSoo is speaking ina broader perspective rather than just limiting to Skeles (Although I'm much in favor for a alternative that is just as good of not better than Skeles).
"Working" but you cant use potions and you dont get exp from them. At least that's how it was with the Drummer bunny and the zombie mushroom and the pig dungeons. Dungeons would be helpful for the popular maps where there are no real alternative- such as skeles and newts. (Though newts aren't really as popular as they were in GMS). That would solve the issue of map stealing, KSing, and even probably map selling for those places. It won't help for GS2 because there /are/ other options- people just like the convenience of GS2.
It would probably take a lot of time to add an entire (working) mini dungeon... But on the other hand it would save tons of time because of the reduced amount of reports on the forum.
If the server continues to grow as it has, something to that effect will be needed. You're going to have more than 8-16 people wanting that one skele map at a time. (I say 16 because most people either duo or leech)
I agree with MyungSoo. The loot rule is quite short. I had an issue once about this. When I had a full inventory and doored myself to singapore to npc, I came out without my door behind me. After npcing I couldn't find it, and when it disappeared I had a long trip to ulu. Another person reaches the map and told me there was not drops left behind. Good thing, the person understood by seeing my leecher and the situation ( even though my leecher was afk). But I do think an extension would be nice, but only enough for it to be not abused. Seeing the drops were always a great game mechanic, that didn't take long to be implanted. I don't have an answer to my own statement, unless you include the map ownership time command. But that would cause the Gm's a lot more trouble possibly, as stated in another thread. Please discuss!
