I want to know more maple easter eggs, things like where the names of NPC's items and places come from. I just learned that 'ludus' is Latin for 'game', and realized how appropriate Ludus Lake was named. Most people must've realized that Kerning and Elinia are are inspired by typesetting terms for spacing between letters(kerning) and paragraphs(alinea's) Henesys, as far as i know is just booze, maybe the developers started naming towns after stuff on their desks, lol, but where does Perion com from? Share what you know!
Hmmm.... here are some pop culture references I managed to catch when I still played in the official server. 1. Skyrim reference 2. Tanya West In some version of the game, this NPC was named Tanya West instead of Maestro Rho, an amalgamation, and reference to actual singers, Tanya Chua and Kanye West. 3. Bleach I'm not too sure whether this was intentional, you can dress your characters to closely match to the main characters from Bleach, a popular Japanese anime/manga. MSEA even held an open caption event, featuring the characters with their exact names. Even the Stonetooth Sword looks really similar to one of the supporting character's weapon. 4. Donald Trump It would be nice to see some of these references and easter eggs be implemented in the server.
Not sure if you'd call this an easter egg, but some people don't notice it Female Boss aka Anego, and the BGM in the Showa hideout is literally a rip off from Kill Bill Vol. 1: Female Boss looks just like O-Ren Ishii (played by Lucy Liu in the movie): Parts of the BGM are actually very similar to Battle Without Honor Or Humanity by Tomoyasu Hotei Is it...? I thought this was a fairly good enhancement: Spoiler
The NPC you make omok and matchcards with has the dragon from bubble bobble on it https://bbb.hidden-street.net/npc/casey
I heard there are a town in Netherland name Lith and they have a harbor too. Maybe they thought about Maplestory in a trip from Canada to Europe?
