Yes and I think it should be rings instead. There's no stat rings in the server so this would probably be the best way to add them!
Then just hand the rings to mike, sybe, gorky, dick, etc. Why even bother implementing the PQ. Lol. Nobody else has a chance.
Right now they don't. It's an inspiration to lv up. If you got what a strong lv 200 got at lv 20 how would that be fair.
It doesn't seem fair for low levels and for people who are struggling to earn mesos. People with a higher level & better equipments would have a serious advantage over them (More damage = faster points). I just don't like the idea of having points for each induivitoal player. But you know what would be fun? if it was a guild only PQ. We can expand this idea more and say that you'll need to have at least 3 people from your guild in your party in order to enter it. The only thing which I'm not sure about is the prizes, since the points system could be easily abuseable by the leader. Maybe we can have a bonus stage where people would be able to hit boxes and get equipments (for 10 ~ 200) from it? I know it needs some work but it can be a really nice system imo, escpecially if they manage to pull it off. So I hope I did explained myself to you and maybe brought something new to the table. I agree.
It isn't impossible especially since you can't pass 200. And even then I said "the same" prizes. Lower lvs could easily get prizes they just wouldn't be as good as the top ranked players.
Adding to this: You'll only be able to get one ring which (assuming we're talking about the ring I suggested) won't even add that much. I highly doubt they'll ever think about implementing the 7ATK(?) level 17 ring. Well it'll encourage them to further their stay at royals. That's how anything in maple works, when you're a higher level you're more than likely going to have better equips which in turn, gives you an advantage to someone who's lower leveled. This isn't a GM event. It's a PQ. Just like having a level 50 in CPQ (in GMS when people actually did the PQ) gave them [a party] an advantage over the other. In a similar light to Ague's argument where we take out the competitive aspect and make it available to everyone, everyone has a chance. Whether or not you're able to obtain it quicker is based off of your own stuff/party. This would just make what you were trying to avoid: TL ; DR I say keep the competitive aspect out of it. i.e rankings Why can't this just be a fun thing to do?
I don't believe in a communist pq as we'll. lel. But I didn't mean competitive as much as I meant hardwork=rewards
In my suggestion low levels can join too and wait till the others finish to kill. And plus, it's a fair chance for everyone since you can get a random prize from your box. People can actually make a plan with their guild (If one of the boxes drops item A, player B loots it and so on) just like they would do when they are zakking. I'd also like to say that I think it's important to encourage teamwork and think it would be more fun than just do it alone. BUT, if you take the competitive aspect from the original idea, it's not too bad imo. However, will the items you get from the points would be untradeabble or tradeable?
In PQs like Dojo, belts were untradeable. Those rings I suggested, in the event Nexon held, they were also untradeable but they later decided (on the last day) that they would be moveable but only within the holder's account. Screenshots of the rings/event I'm talking about: They say tradeable on them because this was after nexon decided to make a 'gr8' decision (just like they did with the potential system) and add them to the economy but there are versions of it that are, as mentioned earlier, only moveable within the account. Just an example on how they'd work (I forgot the actual stats of each ring): Ring 1 -> +50 HP/MP Ring (upgraded) 2 -> +50 HP/MP +5 speed Ring 3 -> +50 HP/MP +5 speed +5 Acc Ring 4-> +50 HP/MP +5 speed +5 Acc + 5 avoid Ring 5 -> +50 HP/MP +5 speed +5 Acc + 5 avoid +1 all stat So on and so forth. The rings did not have slots. Just the lower tiered rings (i.e Evolving Ring 1 - Evolving Ring 8-10(?)) sound like a good idea to me (as tiered prizes) so that it's not AS overpowered as the level 17 ring and just set the amount of points needed for each tier accordingly. The event that nexon had in place, if you're interested about where they came from: Spoiler For the event, it ran for 17 days, you'd have to log in for an hour along the course of the 17 days to upgrade your ring. You miss a day, you miss a complete upgrade. There were no 'make-up' days. Lv. 17 was the highest the ring can go to. So over the course of 17 days it would slowly reach that final point. Each person was given only one ring and one chance to get it to it's highest potential. TL ; DR The lower tiered rings sound more viable since it's not AS overpowered as the level 17 ring and just set the amount of points needed for each tier accordingly.
It sounds pretty good to me. I also agree with what you said about the level 17 ring. Too OP and never should have been in Maple. So, do you upgrade it with points?
Let me start off by saying I like the idea of a BossPQ. However, some points that have been mentioned might require some solutions. For example... (cbf to quote) 1. Fair for all levels (mentioned by Gags) What seems (to me) to be the best solution is to make several difficulties (like the Ariant PQ) that give a different amount of points, and adding items and stuff that are useful for low-level people, as well. I, however, think that a person below level 70 shouldn't even bother to begin with... Bossing shouldn't be your main priority at that point. Maybe 3-4 difficulties (e.g. Easy [LV. 70+], Medium [LV. 120+], Hard [LV. 150+] and Hell/Extreme [LV. 170+/Funded]) would be good? Feedback please. 2. Evolving Ring (mentioned by Christine) This is definitely a nice idea. I believe the Lv. 10 ring was pretty decent (+3 All Stats, +1 W.ATT/M.ATT, I think?), so that might be a decent. Again, you could implement different ones costing different amounts of points. They should also be untradeable for sure. I'll suggest more items later on. 3. Competitive Rankings (mentioned by Matt) I don't know what's bad about this, to be honest. What's wrong with a competitive environment? This entire game is competitive, I don't see how this is any different. Not saying I like how some (those I'm talking about should know I'm talking about them!) people might deal with this... Bragging can sometimes be very annoying if done to a high extent... This is a game, guys. The rewards should also not be based on your position on the rankings... As Ague clearly mentioned. 4. Job Superiority (mentioned by crisk21) This is pretty darn obvious... But to be honest, the jobs need some rebalancing. It might be nice to add bosses with elemental weaknesses (for Mages and Paladins), as well as summoning bosses or just a lot of weaker monsters (think of Zakum, Pianus, Papulatus, Pink Bean, etc.), as has been suggested before, to make it more balanced. But Night Lords will always be Night Lords and Bowmasters will always be Bowmasters... You can't take away their bossing powers, you can only limit it. You could also try choosing the map(s) carefully to make it impossible for classes to fight a certain boss (e.g. a wall you can only get across with teleport or a passage that requires Dark Sight/Barrel, a portal that only allows certain Jobs, a barrier that only certain skills have the range to pass) so you'd have to configure a bigger, more specific party with specific jobs required, thus limiting the amount of true bossers (Night Lords, Bowmasters and Corsairs). Edit 1: You could also make it required to have certain jobs in your party (e.g. 2 ranged attackers, 2 melee, 1 mage and 1 you can choose). 5. Suggestions: Rewards NX rewards seem alright; they are purely for aesthetics, meaning you can't truly benefit from them. Other than that, I was thinking about rare NX items and chairs, so items that set you apart, yet don't affect your stats. Think of Veamoth, Janus, Sachiel, Mercury, Tania equipment, Coke equipment, effect(s) (ring(s)), chairs, stuff like that. Of course, there should also be some gain; the Evolving Ring was a good idea by Christine. I was also thinking of rings, but different ones: Ring of Alchemist (+0-2 All Stats), Circle of Ancient Strength (+0-3 STR&DEX) and Circle of Ancient Wisdom (+0-3 INT&LUK) could be a pretty good idea. You can only Chaos them, making getting truly godly rings incredibly difficult (comparable to PGCs and Facestompers). So much for the high-leveled gear; for the lower-level people, Maple weapons and 60/30% scrolls could be worth mentioning. The only thing I truly would hate seeing in a potential BPQ points "shop" would be White Scrolls, Chaos Scrolls, gachapon items, etc., since this would make the BPQ too beneficial for high-level people and the game way too easy. Edit 2: Am I the only one who noticed the description says +6 W.ATT, yet it gives 5? And the HP/MP bonus is false, too...
Yeah sure Add in the dojo maps and keep the rewards original for Dojo and use the Dojo belts they give White, Purple, Black etc don't go into too custom.. Or do the boss PQ that the npc agent kitty did back in v64 or something..
What I would personally like would be Mu Lung Dojo with rings instead of belts and medals. Dojo is fine for all levels, and for soloing as well as partying.
