Character Name: mintmeister Last thing you did: browse fm Why do you think you got banned?: most likely for being in a guy's Lyka channel Ban message when attempting to log in: banned for third party program/hacking for 3 days What GM banned you (optional): n/a If the reason I was banned was because of the Lyka thing, all I wanted to do was record the time he killed it so I could come back 3 hours later. He is a bishop just using genesis so that is why I stayed so long. This Lyka channel was the last channel that I was going to check as I had just checked the previous 19 channels. I was on the ladder so I could see his damage. I do understand that he asked me to 'CC'. Maybe I should have let him know I was just watching but he was extremely rude as soon as I appeared so I chose to hold my nerve for a few minutes. I did not attack any monsters in the map nor did I loot anything. I understand he took video of the whole thing so you can see for yourself that I was not KSing or harassing. Just watching him kill. I only got the chance to take 2 screenshots. The first one is him looting the Lyka kill. The 2nd is just a chat log of what happened (I'm assuming you have this evidence as well). If this isn't the reason I got banned, then.. please don't ban me again for that lol. If it is the reason I got banned, then really???
Okay, can you please just tell me which rule I broke? Was it harassment? Or KSing? Disruption? I really don't understand how me hanging on a ladder watching him kill a boss warrants a ban. I've read the rules over and over but can't pinpoint a specific infraction. I will accept the ban since it's only 3 days, but it's just very disconcerting that what I was doing, or didn't do, got me banned. you werent just hanging on a ladder watching them kill it, you were actively disrupting them by conversing
Hmm, would I have still gotten banned if I had not replied at all? I feel like all that I said to him was just in defense. Of course I'm going to say something if he's threatening a 'cc or get banned'.
If you were afking, then you wouldn't have been banned. From the evidence I could clearly see you being present, and refusing to cc. This act equates to disrupting the mapowner. He has the rights to ask you to cc since he's the mapowner, and you failed to comply which is why he said it's bannable. People just convey the same message in different way.
I know I would not be banned if I were already AFK. I came into the channel and hung on the ladder waiting for the kill to finish. Tim says I was actively disrupting by conversing and you are saying that I can not be in the map at all? I really just want to know: do I have to leave the map if someone asks me to CC? I can't watch them in any way (especially a map boss with spawn timers)? Can you please just PM the video evidence and tell me at what timestamps are unacceptable behavior. Thank you.
The report is anonymous so I can't show it to you. And don't take what I said out of context - I said you can't be in the map because you were present in controlling your character and refusing to cc despite mapowner telling you to. Your actions during those few minutes are deemed as disruption to the mapowner.
Okay, got it. I must leave the map if I am controlling my character and I am asked to CC by the mapowner (and not really allowed to watch). Since you can't show me the evidence, can you at least describe to me what actions were disruptive? Is it my replies to the man? Or was it me getting seduced over and over again as a result of hanging on the ladder? This would be so much easier if I could just see what I did wrong.. It's not like I don't know who reported me. edit: Again, I accept being banned for the 3 days and I won't get myself into this situation again. I just am so curious as to what exactly constituted the disruptive behavior. I still don't know if it was my replies, or me getting back onto the ladder, or maybe even something else??
I'd consider it disruptive / distracting to strike up a continuous conversation with a map owner that's trying to maintain its ownership. Other examples I can think of would be trying to walk in their way, attempting to party or trade or chat invite them etc.
