Spoiler: Legit Announced about a day ago, they're currently accepting applications for a closed beta. You can sign up for it if you have a Nexon account: http://maplestory2.nexon.net/en/news/article/29057/coming-soon-maplestory-2 Your thoughts?
There are a lot of games of the same genre that were released waaaaaaay earlier than MapleStory2, like Elsword or Dragonica. Probably released too late in this modern day of gaming...
I'm looking forward to it! Been waiting for a global release for so long I thought it wouldn't even get one. Obviously very different from the pixel-nostalgia, but it looks very cute
The closed beta was fun, but it is way too easy to level up + it doesn't encourage party play. It's basically do the Epic quest (story quest) to level up, and it's really boring. Basically go from NPC to NPC and gain a shit ton of EXP. I really like the minigames, housing and customizability, though.
I never played Global MapleStory 2 closed beta, but my experience in Korean MapleStory 2 was phenomenal. I just became bored after 4-6 days of playing... I don't know how different (or better) GMS2 is from KMS2, but leveling from 20 to 30 was incredibly boring in KMS2! (Level 30 was the maximum at the time) which is why I stopped playing. Farming items from the Evil Eye boss was really fun, the Cherry Blossom PQ, etc. I'd be happy to play MapleStory 2 again, the global version this time, as long as the game isn't excessively pay-to-win.
My thoughts? That it'll become another catastrophic failure simply because of P2W factors - it might not be the case yet, but just wait.
Too little, too late. This game would've been good back when it was hyped. They took far too long to actually release it and now even normal MS has more enjoyable graphics and gameplay than this imo.
Haha, I agree. I don't want to believe it, but I know it's going to happen eventually. It's already happening now. They're already enticing players to purchase the Founder Package, that's around $25 / $60 / $100 USD, to play the official game early or have an advantage in leveling... MapleStory 2 would definitely be fun to play for a short-period of time with friends, but I'd probably stick to private servers in the long-term.
