Hi I've been having this weird stutter or frame lag ever since 2 or 3 days ago, after updating my desktop's BIOS. Been trying to downgrade BIOS but to no avail so I'm trying to seek other alternative that might help reduce/solve this issue. Tried changing graphic quality, limiting background apps, reinstalling Windows, reinstalling MapleRoyals, still no changes. Weird enough is that it is only affecting Royals cause I am playing another private server just fine... (◯Δ◯∥) If it's any help my PC is a Dell, Intel i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz, 8GB RAM, 64bit OS. Using BIOS 1.5.4, all drivers up to date. Let me know if more information is needed! edit: It certainly isn't connection issue as well. I can use potions and enter portals just fine. It's just... Idk, probably best term to describe it would be FPS lag. Please helpppppppppppp it's getting frustrating to play.
Yes refresh rate at 60hz. No other refresh rate for my monitor. Someone on discord told me to run and check for temperature too but it's 36-37 Celcius on average, and it should not be overheating issue at all.
Www.dell.com/support Install Dell Support Assist and run that to make sure all drivers are up to date. Are you using an add on graphics card?
http://tinypic.com/useralbum.php?ua=QnrDhDRffRL7XjJ6j0wMiYh4l5k2TGxc root cause analysis as well as PC specs she has updated her drivers to the latest and is on the latest BIOs version. she has an Asus gfx as well as a default onboard mobo the strange thing is that mori says that issue only happen after she update his Bios to a newer version with nothing else changed. you can refer to the link i pasted above for the T/S i have done. maybe you can share some advice on this too. else i would rather format to a win7 which i personally prefer as my OS mori also mentions that it is similar to this guy's issue >> https://royals.ms/forum/threads/laggy-and-stuttering-game.118426/
You can try reflashing the BIOS, it could be that it was possibly corrupted in some way. Does the Windows Task Manager Performance tab show any odd spikes when this stuttering happens? Have you tried updating the chipset and other drivers directly from Dell's support site? (this would be my first step) You may also need to change some compatibility mode settings, I would check Disable Fullscreen Optimizations and High DPI Scaling Override.
Hello just an update. So I tried clean booting and the stutter/delay is now gone. However I have not identified what backgroup services that caused the issue, and I probably am too tired to check it one by one (there are LOT that were disabled). For now I'm just gonna use clean boot to play LOL. Hopefully this will serve as an alternative solution for people that face similar issue! Thanks for everyone's help so far, especially @ArmyPenguin and @Muff!
Was it startup services or processes that you disabled? Do you have a screenshot of those you disabled?
The delay actually came back after the DellAssist suddenly starting up (not sure if I accidentally clicked it since it was on taskbar), so I uninstalled all the Dell softwares on my PC LUL. So far the delay is not present but here's to finger crossed.
Was working with more on this Seems that some Dell service could be causing this issue. She has uninstalled most of the Dell default bloatwares and so far so good
