hi everyone i m nick ,from Asia. i want build a private VPN. Because my recent network has deteriorated. i know I recently learned that I can rent a VPS to build a VPN. And i dont know which(where) engine room is best or better than Asia. there are japan ,hongkong, singapore, korea .and Los Angeles or other place . hopes someone can teach me about it.!thankx
Depends on the purpose of your VPN. If it's only for mapleroyals, it's better for you to get somewhere that's near where their server is located. Well theoretically that's the case. There's quite a number of factors into choosing your vps. You can have the closest datacenter to Mapleroyal servers but some can fuck you up real good with unnecessary routes. Not sure if you still can do this nowadays, but contact their sales, have them traceroute to Mapleroyal servers and send you the result. You'll also have to consider your route to the provider as well. Wireshark if you can't get answers from admins, then ip lookup If it's about you using VPN to secure yourself, then it depends on where you're physically at, the closer to you the better. Then again ymmv
Of course only for mapleroyals, however I guess the server location of mapleroyals is fixed. So I want to choose the most suitable room location to build a VPN. Thank you for your reply
