We would deserve the split from clean price if we just sold it to him from the get go. He didn't offer to BUY the item for his own personal use, he simply stated he wanted to scroll it, and given the party scenario it implies as a team.

I misunderstood when I read the thread the first time -- I thought X took the item and scrolled it for his own personal use. I think team deserves split from scrolled price.

Edit: Because the entire team agreed to let X scroll, they took the risk along with X and deserve the split

I draw my conclusion from the fact that the initial investment in the item was equal. For example:

4 people defeat a boss that drops an item

Each person owns 1/4 of that item

Each person agrees to risk their 1/4 for the possibility of earning more via scrolling

One person invests their personal funds on the scroll(s) knowing that the turn out could be losing both their 1/4 item and scroll(s)

Should the scroll(s) have failed, all members of the party understood the risk in that their 1/4 may disappear, and the individual scrolling it knew the risk in that their scroll may disappear without any return

Since the scroll(s) passed, each member is still entitled to their 1/4 value of the current item, and the individual who contributed the scrolls is entitled to compensation for said scrolls. Had the scroll failed, neither the other 3/4 who contributed their share of the item nor the individual who contributed the scrolls would be entitled to anything

This would be different had the player scrolling it offered to buy out 3/4 the value of the clean item from the remaining players, but that is not the case

I misread your post and thought you mean just split the clean item. For what its worth, this is worded perfectly and the same logic I followed.

I’m very sure certain players will care, especially its the small splits that adds up making it into a big sum.
Just like keeping that spare dollar or two daily makes up in the long run.

In Horntail runs, Seems like 100% of drop profit should be added up, and scrolling this “Faltizan” which was not purchased from the team making it still belongs to the team.
Like i said, Players gets greedy and collects all those spare weapons / Junk Book.
But then imagine them doing gaining them daily selling them at a low prices makes up alot of mesos.

I feel, as an party leader all drops should be accounted for and not just casually say
“Oh u can take this faltizan cause its only worth 30mil” but respect and heed opinions of the other members in the party

As many players of the community discussed. It being scrolled or not, it should still be split evenly, seems like the fault of the organiser for not discussing properly with them team, where all other organisers including myself should learn from.

On the other side where the player took the weapon free without the full party consent and scrolling it is undoubtedly an act of greed.
Be it passing or failing, its still the team’s weapon and that player “X” should still be taking account for.

Splitting of an Scrolled weapon will be deem generous, honest good friend who makes up for the dry run.
Yet keeping an scrolled team equipment will be deem greedy, scammer and gain hatred upon him/her.

This is an example of an interesting yet complicated case, and it seems like a very fun food for thought. Thanks for sharing sids!

As it was a party risk (everyone agree to the scrolling) and not a "buy clean weapon from party then self scroll after" scenario , all party members should be entitled to obtain a part of the split minus scroll price .

+if X does not agree , X deserve a special spot in the memeblacklist

Just my opinion :p, Considering everyone in that group is heavily funded or seemingly wealthy enough to be in the run... idk just seems too dramatic.

Yes he is entirely wrong for taking it upon himself to claim everyone's hour and change's worth of work in meso...., but the reaction to it is a little overkill imo.

You run HT everyday brother! Blacklist for poor etiquette, and continue your daily runs ! :)

Since I feel like whoever is X is gonna get leaked, so I'm not gonna hide. I'm X.

I did not loot anything off the ground on my own after the Horntail was defeated.
The 111att faltizan was dropped by the party leader after I asked if I could scrolled it or not.

A lot of assumptions were made throughout, no proper agreement was mentioned before the whole scrolling process.

Not a single person in the party said anything about spliting the spear, be it whether if the spear boomed or passed.
So of course, I thought the spear was a trash weapon (Neither of us knew the value of the spear before), so I decided to try throwing some 30%s onto it, for fun.
That being said, I looted the spear, when to the FM to get some 30% spears, thinking the spear is mine regardless of what happens to it.

3 30% worked on the spear, 111att faltizan became 126att faltizan with 4 slots. And afterwards I finished it off with 100% event scrolls.
All of those scrolls were bought by me from the FM.

Now all of a sudden, the party leader mentioned that the spear was to be sold and split it evenly among the party.
And yeah, I was confused because like I mentioned, nothing was said beforehand about spliting the outcome of the spear.
It's like an unspoken rule which I have to obey at this point of time, just because the spear passed 3 30% and the value of it from 200m rose to 3b.

At the start, I felt it was unfair because everyone would be getting splits because of the scrolls I bought and my RnG with the 30%s.
So I offered to pay everyone 1ws/cs for the finished spear regardless of how much the spear will be sold.
That offer was disagreed by the party leader.
So I suggested to take away the cost of the scrolls which I spent for the spear, and then divide it evenly afterwards.
My mind changed because I believe that I didn't have to pay for the finished version of the spear afterwards, so I offered to only pay for the clean version of the spear.

Summed up version (My point of view):
    Trash spear dropped from HT.
I asked for it to scroll it.
Party leader dropped it and I looted it.
Said I didn't have any 30% spears with me, went to FM to purchase some.
Passed 3 30% in a row on the spear, party leader mentioned that the spear is to be sold for splits.
Finished the 4slots with 100% event scrolls. 134att faltizan made. Sold it for 3b. (Was S/B very quickly after I post on my forum)
As my S/B price is my selling price, I decided to just sell the spear, instead of waiting for more offers on it.
Extra 3b in my pocket, offered to pay for the clean version of the spear as splits.
    And then all this happened.

Had only if the agreement of whatever the outcome of the spear becomes was said BEFORE I scrolled it, I would have definitely paid.
So yeah, regardless of the outcome of this poll, I will not be paying for the splits for the finished version of the spear, but only the clean version of the spear.

    from an unbiased view:

why would Reaped need to split the final cost of the spear? that doesn't really make sense to me. nothing was discussed beforehand so he should only have to split the cost of the clean item. what if he decided to not disclose that the scrolling process went successfully? he could have just as easily bought another 111 spear and returned it to the party without anyone knowing or getting hurt. i believe the party is just jealous and wants to cash in on someone else's luck.

-if you sold your friend a lottery ticket and he ends up winning, your friend is not obligated to split the ticket with you since he purchased the ticket. it wouldn't be any different if he bought that ticket from the supermarket.
-if you give your friend a lottery ticket and he ends up winning, your friend is not obligated to split the ticket with you but generally feels inclined to give something. in this case, Reaped offered a ws to each member, which was rejected, and that's already more than enough. in this scenario, i think the phrase "beggars can't be choosers" can be applied.

and.. that's why it's such a bad idea to give lottery tickets as a gift
