Exploit the Software, Cash Items or the game for any commercial purpose, including the provision of "power leveling" services; I believe this rule should be restructured to clearly define that trading of any in-game goods for real life wealth is prohibited. I find it hard to understand what a "Cash Item" is. Would this be donor shop items? I think I can safely assume that this rule was made to declare that all trading of any game goods and services for money is disallowed. How about.. Exploit Any In-Game Goods (including but not limited to Game Accounts, In-Game Currencies, In-Game Items, In-Game Services, and Game Knowledge), the Game Software itself, or any other aspect of Maple Royals (the game) for commercial purposes; Punishment: Purchase anything Maple Royals related from anyone, aside from when donating using "http://royals.ms/?page=donate"; Punishment: Note, game knowledge could be someone trying to sell a maple royals guide to make money.
If an attempt is being made to rewrite this rule, you'll have to keep in mind the precedent that has been set by more than one artist of taking drawing commissions in exchange for in-game money.
I'm sorry but I disagree. The artist is not purchasing anything. The artist is accepting donations. They did not start making drawings just to get in-game items from people. It is a difficult topic, but not something that is of our concern. Please note, I have not attempted to change this rule, but better define it. Also, the reason this rule caught my eye was because someone got perma-banned for purchasing items. They did not understand the original rule as that they are disallowed to purchase items from players. The second rule clarifies that. Since someone has been perma-banned for purchasing items, I'm sure the admins know what they are doing; but the players may need to be better informed. Please allow for an administrator to reply. Thanks, -Oldie
I personally don't see the need to make the rule more wordy when it's quite clear what this rule means as it is currently written.
okay then. just wondering what is meant by cash items though and why it isn't already declared when mentioning "game" right after.
My guess is that Cash Items are mentioned separately from the game to make it clear that things like Nexon game cards and itcg cards were not to be exploited for commercial purposes.
