You may have heard of the All Bosses in MapleRoyals thread, but what about Boss Quests? Boss Quests are what they sound like on the tin, they're quests given by NPCs to slay any of the overworld bosses and/or grab any of their drops to give to them. PROS + Many of these give hefty amounts of EXP for the level given + Out of all the doable quests, you can gain 108 Fame total for free + They can be quicker alternatives to dead PQs or grinding CONS - Most of these quests need certain prerequisite quests completed, which can be either grinding a specific mob or mob drop, which can take a little while - The times you'd find them more convenient than any conventional way of leveling is quite rare Since I'm just an ego lord, I'm also putting my word of recommendation of which quests I say you probably should or probably shouldn't do. If you don't agree and want to go ahead/don't want to go ahead, do what you want. This is just a list. Refer to the thread I linked above if you're looking for boss locations, levels, and respawn times. This isn't focusing on the nitty gritty details on the bosses. A Rainbow Snail Shell That Makes Wishes Come True?! Level Requirement: 20 Quest Giver: Pia Boss Hunted: Mano Boss Drop?: Rainbow Colored Snail Shell Quest Prerequisite: Legend of the Snail EXP: 7,500 (24,000) FAME?: 3 Recommended?: Yes and No. The Quest is currently bugged, and can't be completed, which makes the effort useless. But if the bug ever gets fixed in the future, I completely recommend you take this quest. 24,000 experience is more than enough to level you up at Level 20 and up to 23, and even at Level 29 that's nearing half the amount you need to finish that last level. This is also a great start on racking your fame. The Monster and the Evil Scheme Level Requirement: 23 Quest Giver: JM from tha Streetz Boss Hunted: Dyle Boss Drop?: No Quest Prerequisites: None EXP: 1,200 (3,600) FAME?: 12 Recommended?: Yes and No. If you're looking for EXP, this is definitely not what you want. If you're looking for fame, this is definitely what you want. The only confusing thing here is that this is a level 23 quest for a Level 65 boss. It's even weirder that not even Hidden Street had this quest on their radar. Is this a quest exclusive to this game? Why is the requirement so low? Some questions we may just never know the answer to. Monstrous Tree Stumpy Level Requirement: 35 Quest Giver: Winston Boss Hunted: Stumpy Boss Drop?: No Quest Prerequisite: The Old Tree EXP: 45,500 (136,000) FAME?: 5 Recommended?: Yes. Great experience for the level given, more fame, not much more to say. The Bounty Hunt Level Requirement: 38 Quest Giver: Sirin Boss Hunted: Deo Boss Drop?: No Quest Prerequisites: The Existence of the Secret Organization and The True Identity of the Sand Bandits EXP: 55,500 (177,600) FAME?: 6 Recommended?: No. You have to do the entire chain of side quests of the Sand Bandits to enter the room Jano is in, who is one who issues the quest to hunt Deo. My problem with that is that it requires 2 Lidiums to even get to the actual killing of Deo. Lidium Ores are not fun to grind. Unless you have a plug who has the Lidium already set for you (as I had done before), this would take hours to complete. The EXP is great, and so is the fame, but unless you want to spend the time working for it, I'd give this one a pass. Jane's Second Challenge Level Requirement: 40 Quest Giver: Jane Boss Hunted: Mushmom Boss Drop?: Mushmom's Spore Quest Prerequisites: Jane the Alchemist EXP: 6,800 (21,760) FAME?: No Recommended?: No. This one barely counts as a Boss Quest, but since it requires the drop, I'm putting it in anyway. Its mob drop is required for an assortment of other various mob drops. tl;dr it's a drop used for a basic quest making you face an overleveled boss. Pass. Defeat Faust Level Requirement: 50 Quest Giver: Arwen the Fairy Boss Hunted: Faust Boss Drop?: No Quest Prerequisites: The Forest of Evil EXP: 11,280 (36,096) FAME?: No Recommended?: No. The first time an actual Boss Quest doesn't give fame. Add that to the fact that this has low EXP rewarded, this is completely not worth it. A Brave Warrior to Defeat King Clang appears! Level Requirement: 55 Quest Giver: Riel Boss Hunted: King Clang Boss Drop?: No Quest Prerequisites: Defeat King Clang! EXP: 133,500 (427,200) FAME?: 10 Recommended?: Yes. The first encounter with double-digit fame rewards you'll likely encounter. Great EXP, great fame, not much else to say. Operation Strategy 2: Defeat the Monsters Level Requirement: 59 Quest Giver: Ghosthunter Bob Boss Hunted: Timer Boss Drop?: No Quest Prerequisites: Clock Tower Monster Wipe-Out EXP: 151,500 (484,800) FAME?: 11 (only done though Operation Strategy 3: A Cute Baby-Bird) Recommended?: Yes and No. The Quest is currently bugged, and can't be completed, which makes the effort useless. But if the bug ever gets fixed in the future, I completely recommend you take this quest. It is a bit more time-consuming since you must hunt more mobs and mob drops for Timer's Egg, which is very RNG-bound, but nothing that's Lidium-tier of a grind. I still recommend this one for the EXP and Fame. Great experience for the level given, more fame, not much more to say. On one hand, Pink Bean isn't in the game. On the other hand, Pink Bean could be in the game in the future if it is willed by whatever power. There's no point in doing the quest now, but in the future, it may suddenly be worth doing. Only time can tell.
Eliza's there in a note form, didn't include it in its entirety because you don't actually have to kill Eliza or get its drop. I also didn't include Nine Tailed for its drop is also a generic, non-exclusive mob drop. Unless I'm missing something all this time, I don't see a reason to include it. I completely forgot it didn't, my apologies. Many of these come from memory of whether or not they were worthwhile. I have the quest accepted on my Maurader, but I hadn't done anything with it yet to notice.
