Hello guys. Just curious if there is any interest in CPQ (Monster Carnival Party Quest). If there are enough interest I may host one similar to the OMOK tournament that I've done in the past. If there are a lot more participants it will most likely be single elimination instead of double. Omok tournament example: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/omok-double-elimination-tournament.108726/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/omok-tournament-2-0-open-enrollment.119106/ At the moment I'm only planning on testing the water with lv 30 ~ 50 one and the 51~70 will come after the rules and conditions are solidified with the first tournament. If you're interested, take a few seconds and vote your opinion: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/cpq-tournament-rules-polling-1.130825/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/cpq-tournament-rules-polling-2.130826/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/cpq-tournament-rules-polling-3.130828/ Right now here are the rules (Draft): Each participant submit 1 AP reset as entrance fee (2 AP reset per team since it's 2v2). I will be collecting all the entrance fee during the sign up period. The first place will take 50% of all the AP resets, 2nd place will take 30%, and 3rd place will take 20%. No I will not make any personal gain from this. Each match will be best 2 outta 3 games 2v2 format. Anyone between lv 30 and 50 can participate. Larger team size will be considered future CPQ tournament depending on how this one goes. If a team member drop out or accidentally level up can no longer participate, the whole team will be disqualified. No replacement or subsitusubst will be allowed. Two teams will be allowed to have 48 hours to settle the score. If one team is not responsive in game or on the forum, the team will be disqualified automatically after 48 hours. If two teams are on different time zone having difficulty meeting up, contact me and I can rearrange the match up. No high level skill buff (se, si, echo, etc) or potion buff prior to entering the PQ to keep it balance and fair. Only skill buffs provided by the qualified lv 30~50 team members are allowed. Summons, skills, and protectors are allowed. Team with lower average level will pick the map (Room 1/2 or 3/4) for the first game. The second game the losing team will pick the map. If the average level of the team is a tie, I will flip a coin as a host. All rules are subject to change. All inputs are welcomed. Apply in the following format: Team's Name: (optional) Team Members' IGNs: (required) Jobs and Levels: (required) Online Time: (use server time as reference)
Great idea CavemanJake! I’m not sure if I have enough time to participate in this one but I’ll let you know! Any idea when you’re starting or you just start when you have enough participant?
Ive been waiting years for this (Literally ). Not officially signing up yet but I 100% want to participate! Can we require that a screenshot be provided by all members involved from inside that short lobby map before the game starts? This would be a requirement for a win to be valid in order to check for outside buffs and potions.
I'm up for this, but need help on how to word this into the rules. This means we need 4~6 screenshots per match (2 per game). 4 ss if it's a 2:0 (I assume each person on the team need to provide one), and 6 ss if it's 2:1. P.S. psssssssssst Eli you need a partner?
Still TBD, but I'm hoping to start the 1 week long sign up period this weekend and start the tournament right after. But if not enough people participate I want to wait longer to make it more fun and worth while.
I think there should be a limitations of what weapon/gear you are allowed to have in addition to no buffs. Else someone can bring something imbalanced to cpq and that will be unfair. Thoughts?
No way for me or anyone to enforce that. Can't check what someone is wearing before, during, and after the CPQ.
Video recording from a referee won't reveal stats of gear anybody is wearing... Not saying I'm against the idea. Just impossible for a host or anyone to monitor or enforce the rule.
I'd say yes since that's part of the party quest. How to utilize skills and protectors is one of the most important feature in CPQ.
Dude this is like the only thing I wanted in a private server lmfao. Maybe you should give people a couple weeks to level a character to 50 to increase the participation rate. Also what room will people be competing in? You probably already thought of this but in case you haven't, I'd suggest mixing it up or randomizing it. Like if CPQ1 was only done in room 3/4, everyone would just make a spearman.
Yea I probably need to make the sign up period a little longer to spread the word out. The problem is even though I'm a host, I may or may not be present during each match due to the time zone period. How I did the omok tournament was I collect the entry fee, I set up the match up bracket, people contact each other to settle the match, and then I give out the winning reward (all the entry fees). I can think I can add this to the rule: Team with lower average level will pick the map. Room 1/2 or 3/4. Then the 2nd game the losing team will pick the map. How does that sound?
Well if it worked before, I see no reason to change your method then haha. Having the lower level team pick the map makes sense! Just wondering, are rooms 5/6 excluded from the tournament or did you just forget to mention them?
To 5/6 I think it's for team size 3 people and up. I wanted to keep it 2v2 for now because having too many people will increase the difficulty to meet up by a lot due to time zone difference. When I hosted the OMOK tournament, there were several occasions where people are having a hard time meeting up. Thats was just 1v1. I want to test the water with this starting off with 2v2 only. If it works out well I will try out the lv 51~70 CPQ and/or larger team size.
Nice, do we have to max the mobs for each other? Or we can jump into skills & protectors immediately? Just wanna clarify this part 1st as warriors need the mobs for high CP
The win strategy will vary depending on the opposing team's team composition. It is up to each team to decide your strategy.
