Considering the main topic you started, let's assume that other than weapon, all other equipment are the same and free.

If we use comparable equipment, NL wipes hero like a used tissue.
This assumes that hp washing is completed and both characters have the best possible weapon.
We're looking at about 15b for hero, and roughly 50b for NL.

Comparable funds on the other hand makes NL little more than a mildly amusing circus sideshow.
This assumes that hp washing is completed, and the best possible weapon is obtained with leftover funds.
This of course, also ignores the fact that your funds are not static, and that you can progressively get better weapons over time.
Hero's best weapons usually doesn't cost more than 10b at the most, iirc, a perfectly scrolled ST was about 12b.
A perfectly scrolled RC or DPS on the other hand, hits somewhere in the general vicinity of 45b. 20b if you're looking at a 8x/1x RC/DPS.

As mentioned first: we are only looking at weapon possibilities. We did not consider other equipment, such as glove/cape/shoes, all of which would easily cost another 30b-40b if you want top of the line shit. Above average cape/shoes/gloves would still set you about 10b back. Again, this is ignoring the fact that most people wouldn't jump straight into top of the line shit and build their stuff 1 wa at a time.

You can also scroll them yourself to reduce costs significantly, assuming RNG decides to like you, but like most other people i wouldn't bet on it, because like most people, i've spent way more on trying to scroll shit to get something that would have been worth a lot less if i had just bought it outright from the market.

The above statements applies to both wall type and trick spamming bosses, mainly because NL really is that good at bossing at the cost of near zero mobbing skills whereas Heroes tend to be more well rounded (mostly because they only have 1 usable attack skill that works equally well for single target or aoe).

Both essentially boss the same way. Spam one skill. Both are the ultimate examples of a 1 trick pony. End of story.
Ironically, for all their vaunted attacker names, their less popular cousins actually have better dps than them (sair for NL, and DrK for hero), the difference being that SKILL is actually needed to play those classes in order to achieve the dps potential they have.
But this is a private server.
    Skill?What's that?Doesittastegood?

Heroes at least get stance i suppose, so they don't get knocked back.
NL has better evade, but positioning is still a problem if their evade fails them.

Utility wise, NL wins hands down. Heroes can only do one thing, which is damage (not counting sed mule since most people have reached a point where its not necessary for a warrior to be a sed mule), NLs at least provide a very convenient haste boost on top of damage (especially useful for attackers since most of them use Attack shoes).

    In summary:

If we only look at the end result; what you choose depends entirely on what your current funds are, and what you can realistically earn in the future.

If we take a step back, i'll note that hp washing for heroes can be postponed until very late, so you can still make one first without spending huge amounts of cash off the bat.
Similarly, heroes tend to do well even without top of the line equip because of their damage formulas, which is why they get the -well rounded- label.

NLs don't really have that luxury if they're aiming for 18k due to the way their hp growth formula works. They going to be crippled with 200 over int for a VERY long time, they're going to be leeched from 1 - 130 because there's literally nothing they can do to grind exp, they're going to NEED fresh AP to get the best results for hp washing, and they NEED above average equipment before they even start to show the slightest smidge of potential, all of which means you're going to be spending a lot right off the bat.

Of course, there's the caveat that 18k is completely unecessary. Reducing your hp target to something like 9 - 12k would instead make life as a NL that much more cheaper and bearable. You can even grind somewhat instead of being another leech bot. With less int, and some apples (if you can afford it) you can even start farming BiGFoot as early as 125.

P.S.: A comparison between Heroes and DrK, while less convoluted, also depends on your tastes.

DrK has great party utility and they look at hp washing with the disdain it deserves due to inbuilt HB.
Hero has zero party utility and some washing is needed to get 30k to do their best in bossing without HB.

Damage wise, enough has been said and posted about it in forums, but all things being equal, their damage potential pretty much match each other. Differences in types of weapons used, WA of said weapons, Attack speed of said weapons, all change the final result, but not by much. At best you're going to see DrK's do 5-8% more damage.

That said, the downside here comes from the fact that if DrK's want to get that extra 5-8% they're going to have to play risky due to berserk. Skilled DrK's say they never have any problems with zerking in bosses. I don't doubt them, but i also don't think they're going to have it easy if PB ever comes out. Even if PB is debuffed, there's a very good chance that its still going to be dealing a crap load of damage. Most DrKs probably won't have the skill to play with that kind of hp margin, reducing them into HB mules at PB at best.

Which you might as well ignore in favor of another well washed attacker amirite?

Of course, in the current state of the game, that's all irrelevant and DrK's still have 5% more damage than hero.

The less said about Paladins the better. Unless what you're going to say is crash, in which case, go ahead and say all you want.

I'm not aiming for perfect equips rn. I think I'll just focus on the AP resets and slowly work on the gears

You DID ask what is the dps of NL compared to hero. There's no way to answer that question without comparing mid game and end game gear or the circumstances in which dps is being done, both of which change the answers very differently. If you only look at APR on the other hand, of course Hero is cheaper because they need so much less.

a perfect rc is nowhere near 45b. my friend bought one for 16b. a perfect st is also way more than 12b. as a hero main with top 5 range, i can't recommend playing hero as no matter how high range you are, it's harder to find a bossing party than a mediocre nl.

Yeah I was curious of the dps in terms of end-game. I'm just saying that it's not my priority AT THE MOMENT to get perfect gear since it's out of my budget

So noted. As mentioned in shoutbox, i do not have a very clear understanding of NL prices because i dont have one. Please defer to resum on the prices.

an nl's single target dps at end game with all buffs would be about 20% higher than an equally geared hero (with the difference growing as gear gets better). this means that heroes are better on 2 and 3 targets, but the only place that's relevant is ht and the number of melee you can optimally bring is 1 before they have to start attacking heads earlier than you'd want. the bulk of your end game xp will be ht and the reality of party composition is that 3 nls are needed for every melee so while there are a lot of nls out there, there's also way more slots.

This seems so wrong, claws like craven are actually cheaper than stonetooth, both in clean weapon prices and in perfectly scrolled one prices. This is due to them being more commonly dropped (you can get them from ulu while st is only form gach) and more commonly scrolled (due to the large amount of NLs). I bought a 90 atk one for 14b some months ago and now the prices are even lower with the cheap WS

Also Drk isn't stronger than hero, at best they can be equal with SE and SI (with godly gear drk might have a 1-2% more dps even) but without SI and SE hero is a lot stronger (at least by 10%). And while SE is common you won't have SI in most parties so hero is usually stronger. Their advantage is mostly better utility with HB and a better power crash skill (longer range and can cancel attack buffs too)

Hero, always hero. Cheaper, stronger, reliable, faster.

I don't see how a Drk would have more dps than a Hero. To even be in the same league a Drk would need SE and SI. Corsair's are different since they destroy NL's without party buffs and with party buffs it depends on the boss.

Yes Horntail is the biggest baddest boss where NLs are king. And Krex is a highly reliable source of EXP where NLs are always preferred. Also Toad if you washed to ~16k hp. No argument here.

But it could be said that Heroes get a consolation prize in CWKPQ and Shaolin where the heroes total damage output is actually superior due to being tasked with pinning/fighting multiple bosses at the same time.

For new/casual players, Zakum is the most readily accessible, social bossing "raid", where heroes have a fun time damaging multiple arms, not dealing with stuns/knockback, and clearing flying mobs for ranged attackers.

Oh and there is also this boss that heroes and other warriors excel at killing named Bigfoot that is also pretty lucrative in terms of 5k nx, toes, and the intangible of being self sufficient in leveling in the early stages of 4th job.

    So it depends on what kind of bossing you plan to be doing;

If you plan to have high end gear + connections with reliable experienced bishop, SE, SED, and the goal to be the king of dps at horntail, then it would be more favorable to go NL. But without these, I'd say hero is the better choice due to the variety of bosses you can excel at on a relatively modest budget.
