Forum Lottery with banned account's mesos?

?

How would you feel about a forum lottery involving perma banned account's mesos?

  1. Yes, they don't need it because they're GONE.

    11.1%
  2. No, why are you even up at 3AM? Go to bed.

    55.6%
  3. I mean... It's not a bad idea, but it's probably impossible.

I'm just throwing this out here because I'm genuinely curious on the feedback, and it's one of those 3AM wild thoughts that popped into my head.

As you know there's most likely a bunch of mesos still sitting around on perma banned accounts... (as well as IGNs, but that's another story.)
I mentioned this before to my guild and they were divided on the subject, so I'm genuinely curious to see what the rest of the community thinks about this idea. Or maybe they gave everything away before they could get banned, and there's absolutely no money left behind whatsoever. Who knows?

But, what if it were possible to round up every stray meso from every perma banned account, and host an annual/one time lottery draw on the forum?
It would put more currency back into the economy, and possibly discourage people from attempting RWT situations.
I'm probably talking out of my ass here, and it's most likely NOT possible to even do this, but I'm actually curious as to what other people's opinions would be on this topic.

No, I think the server's fine the way it is. Too many loopholes here.

the server should take MORE out of the economy right now rather than putting back in. nothing should cost more than 10b

Even morally speaking, unlawful money does not belong in anyone's hands - and most of these accounts progressed through illegal means.

    Interesting thought nonetheless!

Yeah, I was on the fence when I came up with the topic too haha, on one hand it’s morally wrong to pillage banned accounts, but on the other there’s so much stuff just sitting there... f3

    I’m liking everyone’s thoughts!

I absolutely agree here, don’t get me wrong I think it’s fantastic that people have these godly equips, but when they have a 20b+ price tag it’s kind of absurd. Nobody really has that kind of money laying around..

That’s actually what inspired this thought too lol

I think possibly what @Lahv is suggesting is that according to macroeconomic principles, holding other things equal and increasing the amount of money in an economy makes things more expensive, meaning that the proposed introduction of seized funds into the economy would make the price tags even more egregious.

    What Chok said.
The more mesos in the economy, the higher items are priced as the Meso value goes down.

How about auctioning some banned people's items and having the mesos paid simply sink :)

This one is tricky. Some of these items could’ve been made illegally by RWTers and have no place in this server. However, there has also been godly items that were made legitly by normal players, only to be bought by RWTers with large sums of illegal wealth being injected into circulation, and having a valuable item locked away in their accounts after they get banned, which I felt has always been a shame.

I think any not strictly necessary overlap between in game items/economics and server administration is a bad idea.
