Hi everyone, First of all I want to say thank you to the GM's who run these events frequently again. I think it is a very good thing for the server and I appreciate it a lot, that you are spending your time running these. I just have one huge problem with it. The fact that you give out rare NX items only in JQ. And that for a very long time already. My problem with this approach is, that basically the same person's will win these events over and over, just because they happen to be good at these JQ's. People like me, who are just not good at JQ will never be able to win these. Another problem is that it's mostly the same JQ again and again, so the people who already won these, will most likely win them again. (Think it was the Sleepywood JQ for the last 5 times when rare NX was given out?) Maybe we can have some randomized events again and give out rare NX items there as well. I think that would be much better for everyone. Because with the current system there is only a very few people who profit a lot from these events and I don't think that these events should have the goal to fund specific players. Prime example is 'Reaped' who won like 100b+ worth of items already I assume, maybe even more I dont know (sorry for putting you as a prime example here). I think these events should be designed in such a way that everyone has the same chance on winning them. I know i might sound salty about this, because I am just bad at JQ. In fact this bothers me for quite a while already and I honestly can't believe that nobody else made a thread about it already. I doubt I am the only one with this opinion and it shouldn't be hard to make it fair for everyone, especially since we had randomized events in the past like RR (I know that is not possible right now, but similar thinks can be done). Another thing that would be nice are announcements for events where you can win rare NX. Like forum announcements, quite some time before the event happens. This way people could plan around the event easier. Thank you for your attention, feel free to share your thoughts about this topic and I can't stress enough how happy I am that there are events and stuff like this happening! I just think we can improve the reward system a bit to make it more fair.
even though i consider myself somewhat decent at jqs, i agree with you 100%. i'm so appreciative for the events that are held but it's crazy that you can make an easy 2-20b for being good at jq. the tradable chairs/nx should really only be given out for the more randomized events (e.g. scavenger hunt, hide n seek, red light green light, russian roulette, new kite event, trivia-related, etc). like you said, a solution would be to only give out the 2b+ items in multi-legged events where there are a couple randomized events to help weed out some pro jqers
Agreed 100%. Additionally, it's an easy way out of actually hosting a real event. Throw people in a map and whoever finishes first gets the prize. Whoop-dee-doo! The fact that people can win items worth 10b from such an activity is absurd from my point of view. How many hours of leech is that? How many hours of farming? How many hours of bossing? Yet, somebody gets it in less than 30 minutes just for doing a jump quest that's already been done countless other times. Edit: Also, for the other events where speed can be a factor (hide and seek especially), skills like tele/fj need to be disabled. Should be common sense but it's been like this for god knows how long. GM haste, tele/FJ disabled. Voila, even playing field.
Cant agree more ;-; Looks like I keep missing events. I will be so happy if they announce their event 6 hours before it starts. They may be caring the possibility of coinciding snowman and their gm event when they announce earlier. As far as I know, they have like 4 rounds when they award rare items. When I joined last time I did JQ, RR and drop game. So being good at only JQ wont give you a rare nx. I think the reason why JQ is chosen as first stage is it is hard to decide limited winners from 100 players by other ways. Maybe the situation will change when more events are implemented. Imo quiz like hangman is a good round to add, so they can test players’ wisdom. Red and green light is a good one for mind game. I think somebody will condemn me for saying this but I honestly thought, “Why dont you practice more when you cant win JQ?” I would go practice ludi JQ 30min before it starts. I was really bad at JQ (like taking 3 hours for first map of ellinia JQ) but after practice I lost only once in JQ event. You cant lose only if you remember some tricks( I dont wanna say in public. S>JQ training class service ).
The feedback has been noted and we will endeavour to spread out rare NX rewards across more events, rather than almost exclusively to JQ events
Going off of what Mati said, I agree events with expensive rewards could do with being varied a bit with this creative staff that said, I would also agree that it isn't right for all events to be completely based on luck. JQs are a defining theme in this game whether or not you're good. Another factor for the current situation is that our current array of usable events is mediocre at best with more to come! Because winning rare NX items should require extra effort, new GMS events will likely play a big role in alleviating the urge to throw in JQs which in turn will make events more worthwhile for everyone than before.
Noted your feedback. I will be hosting my final events tomorrow and Sundays before I take a 5 months break. Hopefully when I'm back, all these issues would've been resolved. At the moment, I have decided to stop giving rare NX for any events I host, till the full event system is implemented simply because any other events other than Fitness, Ola and Snowball won't guarantee an even playing field. For example when I held the recent Follow the Kite, I got tons of whispers about how it's unfair to non-mobile classes. The same happens when I host Hide and Seek or Explore and Kill in Sight. As much as I'd love to host them, sometimes I have to consider the mass of players, and sometimes it's also physically draining (imagine getting home at 11pm, brushing down, and hosting an event between 1am to 3am) to host a long event (those 4 parts kind) just to give out rare NX (Btw I agree that giving rare NX just for completing Fitness is nonsense). Regardless, thanks to those who participated in my events and appreciated it.
Thinking out loud here... More forum events maybe? We do the Chair design during the summer/fall, tree decoration during the winter. Unless I'm missing something there's a missing season we could take advantage of- last spring we did the Design a Quest event- and the people who participated liked it- maybe we can incorporate some of that NX that's rarely seen with that since the prizes last time weren't stellar. I know it's not really an in-game event but it directly affects the in-game and it's purely creative- so theres no advantage to having a NL or Mage to get around and there's no JQs.
Could you host a Russian Roulette event Kai? I think it would be a fair event for everyone. I haven't been to one of those for a while but I remember it was a ton of fun! On a side note I really enjoyed the Mind and Body Challenges you hosted. I used to wake up at 8 in the morning to do those challenges with a college friend , brings back good memories from the summer!
you know it would be nice to see some gm events where you guys summon bosses and strong monsters like maplestory does. Links for proof...... just look it up there are so many more than this
They did an event like this before, spawning some horntail preheads in Henesys and Pink Bean in Florina Beach. The client couldn't handle the amount of players and animations though so you'd disconnect every minute. Also no rewards and the mobs dropped nothing lol.
Im able to summon lots of stuff and nothing happens, I think that it was what they were summoning that was the problem, stick to the summon sacks made by maplestory
Sure, imagine all your mobs. Then all the people in the map for the event. Then all the mage ultimate spam, people using map effect NX, corner smegas. It looks something like this:

Server wise, it's definitely able to handle that kind of load (referring to the boss summon event I held), but it is the client that is acting up due to the tons of skills effects and stuffs that's on-going which is why that will be the only summoning event we'll ever host, until the custom client comes along. Besides, there's no real reward to participating in boss summon event lol...it's just for the lulz.
honestly the bosses can drop decent stuff, but when you guys get the chance I would do one and tell people it a week before you do it, why not see if it increases server pop, what do you have to loose?
