Hi everyone, Just a notice to let you know that we are still looking into the connectivity issues which have been causing disconnections and major lag in the game and on the website. So far we know that the issue is being caused by a filtering system that our host uses to filter out bad traffic e.g DDoS attacks. However it seems the filter is being far too sensitive and is ending up blocking most of the good traffic. We are working with our host to figure out a permanent solution to the problem as quickly as possible. Regards, The MapleRoyals Staff. Update regarding connectivity issues - 4th Nov 2014 Apart from the daily lag at 12:10 GMT, most other spikes which occur are due to the BlackLotus DDoS protection used by our host LimeStone Networks (LSN). Because BlackLotus is outside of LSN's control there is not much they can do to rectify the issues, however they have confirmed that they are currently in the process of moving to an in-house DDoS protection service, which they will then be able to monitor and manage at all times. There is no ETA on when the change will happen but hopefully it will be soon. Thanks for your patience. Seems to be stable at the moment, but I would greatly appreciate it if players could let me know whenever there are any more lag issues. I am 'watching' this thread so will get email notifications and can update our host immediately about the problem.
It could be related to the lag issues still. I went into a map with mobs and 'lagged out' again. Skills went through just fine, so did smegas- but mobs weren't being damaged/weren't damaging me. 10 seconds later I d/ced to login screen. I'm afraid my MTR might not be too helpful but here it is anyway: http://grabilla.com/04916-37f12eff-10ff-472c-add2-c25ea0ef41fb.png
Yes Matt, There are some lag issues atleast for me right now. I dont know if everyone else has it or not. Basically the game freezes for 5 to 10 seconds in every 30sec-1minute or so. Its quite interrupting the gameplay at the moment, so it might be worth looking into. Really doubt I'm the only one experiencing this right now.
I can't see anything on the trace routes to suggest that packets are being lost causing lag. But it is still possible that it could be server sided lag caused by MySQL queries. Keep updating with any issues please, and provide trace routes if possible.
For sure, but how do I provide you with that? Give me instructions and I'll go ahead and do it, alright?
When this happened, the LSN staff released the following statement in reply. I then called LSN and spoke to the Datacenter Manager directly who assured me they hope to transition back to their new system sometime tomorrow and start the process over again. He assured me the process will be as transparent as possible, but like today, things may go wrong unexpectedly. Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding that not only are the staff working as hard as we can, we are doing everything we possibly can, and are simply at the mercy of our host. Thank you.
