If the Admins were to condemn this, it would be more about sending a message about other and future expliots than anything.

Lowering the size of the "gray area" in between "exploit" and "non-exploit".^ :) (Although this is true whether they condemn it or not).

It's likely we will just remove the NPC script completely. I believe it was just something I coded when I was messing around about a year ago and was left in the game by accident.

Awww, i wish you'd leave it:p I thought it was so neat when i was noob to the server! Maybe you could put a character level limit on it and leave it for the new players to have fun with?:)

    Maybe level 30?

I had no idea wether this existed in mapleroyals nor if it did in old school MS but I believe it did or just I'm imagining things. If so then my argument about the 150k requirement causing less nostalgia and more complaints is invalid.

Anybody knows the answer to this?

I think it means we can't have nice things. And technically you already lost the bet when you put it on the table. It was never an exploit, regardless of GM intervention or not. Exploit = manipulate code or error in coding scripts to make profit. No matter what happens to the NPC or guide, you still can't exploit the game by using this method. But whenever you bet 100k nx on something, you'll do anything to win right? :p

I don't really know what to say to this except... maybe it's time for a lesson in economics? Clearly neither of you grasp what the term profit means. What you are talking about is having POSITIVE MONETARY PROFITS. We can even totally ignore the fact that profit margin can be negative or positive, let's make the false assumption that it can only be positive.

You aren't grasping the whole idea of the gambling game here. Playing the game the normal way, you on average pay 50k mesos, but this is not a loss. As this is the typical payment for the game, you say that that 50k is paying for the actual experience of the gamble. That means if you wind up having 50k less in your pocket, you actually broke even because that's how much the game normally costs. To put it in everyday terms, if you go play a $0.50 game at the arcade with your friends, you don't say you lost 50 cents, you paid it to play a game. Now, using this "technique," you are only going to shell out 33k mesos. Since we saw that 50k is the price of the gamble, you can say that you are profiting here because you are paying less for the same thing. On average, you are going to experience a 17k meso "profit" over a player gambling normally.

Digestive, I can't really respond to anything you else you said because I can't follow what you're saying at all.

Sorry, i'm a grade 12, can only go so far with economics, but even so, I just know it's not exploitable.

What the hell is he talking about? You don't profit from this! And you pay for the experience? It's not like your paying to go on an rollercoaster ride you're just letting a npc decide the outcome of a 1 seconds gamble. WOW SO MUCH FUN! TOTALLY WORTH THE 50k! This isn't an arcade it's a gambling NPC.

    I can't even...

I understand what Digestive is saying. Well, people do play for the fun of it. Unless i'm completely mistaken, I do believe net profit=total revenue-total expenses. As far as I know, the gambling experience isn't worth any mesos, but is just an experience. Even if you went on a roller coaster ride for $5, the net profit is still -$5, doesn't change that fact whether the ride was fun or not.

So making 100k mesos from a gamble isn't a profit?
    >this isn't an arcade, it's gambling
Of course, he used an analogy to explain the situation easier

    Also,
