Will the game go unplayed

I like this game very much, but I am afraid that no one will play this game in the future, so that no one will form a team and play boss together! Do you have an opinion from an old player? Can I keep playing?

 

Sure, you can keep playing, but nothing lasts forever. Someday Maple will be a game no one plays anymore, just like any game.

 

Every Game comes to an End, looking at all the beautiful history of other games that closed with an beautiful ending.
Its the sad truth, but lets enjoy it while it lasts!
Perhaps MapleRoyals will wrap up one day thanking everyone and become the True Nostalgic Game.

Unless everyone lost interest in 2D side scrolling MMORPG, I don't see MapleRoyals, or just MapleStory itself dies as that is the only competent game in the market now excluding the browser based / mobile based games.

 

Not gonna lie, the population used to be around 1.3k now its 600.

Ya I agree. More people will generally play in the summer time when they aren't so busy with school, myself included. I started and played a lot in the summer and now I barely go on. Life gets in the way ><

 

Pre-BB Maple is like original StarCraft - a cult classic game that a large group of outliers will keep playing for a very long time, because the sequels failed to carry on the spirit of the original. People will be playing this game long after all of us tire of it.

 

I think as years goes by, people grow up and take on more responsibility IRL, probably one of the reason why so many oldies left (they probably joined the server in their late teens, and are probably working adults now).

 

Not true for everyone. I'm a working adult and I ain't planning on leaving Royals yet .

If you haven't noticed, a good proportion of the players are at the age of between 18 and 25. Most of us are students, so we are usually busy during the year with studying, until the vacation kicks in during summer season. It's usually at this time of the year you'll see about 1k or more people playing the game at the same time. Don't worry, we are just busy, but we aren't going anywhere. ;]

 

I think is based more of the game updates, there is still isn't mac compatible for 2 years after new source. The game developer reduce events drop rate this year compare to all the years before.. No FM button.. Everything is Nerf and Nerf so call no pay to win gaming.. It's heading towards real server where everything is only 1% rate instead of having the joy of playing a private server..
I really don't understand the concept why you need to nerf just to prevent market boom, when If the game can attract new player to join which can prevent market boom. But no Nerf Nerf and Nerf..

 

I think balance is the charm of royals. If i wanted everything to be crazy and easy i would just go to the 1000x exp 1000x drop servers

 

i think this games running out of it's timeline, around 3-4 yrs ago the players who would be playing were from around 16-21. most of the players who play for nostalgia are pretty much moved on to the stage where there lives have caught up to them and have no time to play. "new" players join less now because the new players joining aren't from the nostalgia era anymore. A kid with the most free time ages around like 16-18 which are like 2000's babies and im sure kids born in 2k's don't have a clue what maplestory is.
