I'm having struggles with death teddies training as I'm missing way too much. I'm currently level 55 with 439 magic and have around +88 matt from equips (exluding staff/wand). What am I doing wrong? I feel like GS5 is a much better place at this point.

Magic doesn't matter if you're training the proper way (Meaning you're using Poison Breath instead of Fire Arrow) since Poison Breath's damage is based 0ff a % of the monster's HP; no matter what it brings anything it poisons down to 1 HP in 40 seconds. You could train naked, but if you want to gear up, I'd recommend going for jump/speed equips as those will help you move around the map easier. Never tried GS5 so I can't say anything about it.

As for missing a lot at Death Teddies, Jesters are a good alternative (Personally I think they're actually better). Since MapleRoyals doesn't have the Chimney Jesters map, you'd have to go the Toy Room map instead.

There's only 4 Jesters in that map, but you can multi channel poison to optimize your EXP gains. If you don't know how to, here are the steps:

    1. Poison all Jesters in your current map.
    2. Exit Toy Room and enter the first room to your left.
    3. Switch to another/previous channel.
    4. Go the Toy Room in that channel.
    5. Repeat steps 1 ~ 4.

*You can change channels in the Toy Room but since you would most likely be constantly getting hit, it will almost be impossible. Also, you shouldn't change channels right after you exit the Toy Room since once you enter the next channel, you will be teleport to the bottom left of that map, meaning you'd have to spend a lot more time walking. By ccing in the next room, you save a lot time.

By following these simple steps, you can dual channel train at Jesters with Poison Breath or even triple channel if you're fast enough. Good luck!

@PurePoisonXD, thank you! Yeah I used poison breath but thought perhaps magic influences the accuracy. I'll give Toy Room a shot :)

Luk, Int, and Level are the three components that influence magic accuracy (level being the largest component.) So each level, you'll miss quite a bit less.

I have been grinding from 80 to 90 at skeles now with Poison Mist, and it was pretty fast (at this level I get around 3.8% per minute on my F/P (with HS (100) and my hermit for hs/leeching (94)).

However, I want to try something else, namely Petrifighters. But before I transfer my three characters to that place, what are the benefits of Petrifigher and are they generally faster with Poison misting?

In my experience, petris were faster (better layout for misting, especially once you have 28 explosion.)

Just did this grind. Personally I did Selkies until around 64-65. If you want you can also try Straw Target Dummies, they give decent exp, are easy to get to, and drop Maple Shine Wands which sell well (and you can find your own for when you get 64). Zombies are another money making alternative, but probably meh exp because we don't have an aoe till 70.

The upside is that grinding at Death Teddies is super fun. Lots of mobility, and once you actually start hitting them, you see why it's considered one of the best maps for us.

Also, this might help you out:

I don't think zombies are efficient since they're immune to poison as well.

I made a f/p poison mage and the 3rd job leveling rate is insane! Even faster than 2nd job.

Getting 5-10% every minute when you first start doing petris is an amazing feeling!

Aside from upgrading to a pyrope wand/staff which are hard to find better clean than easily farmable shine wand/wisdom staff you can just stick with what you've got.
    [IMG][IMG] LVL70 Elemental Wand 1/2 86 TMA (1 is fire, 2 is poison)

For the most part, training can be tough at times, but depending on your pots expenditure/funding, it isnt too bad.

    Here's how i did it:

1-10 - Maple Island: Follow quests
    10-15 - Grendel training quests
15-18 - Quiz in NLC (kerning city subway)
18-24 - Henesy Hunting Ground (with a party is the best)
24-30 - Either Land of Wild Boars (Hidden map), or Ant Tunnel (Sleepywood)
30-35 - Can go back to the maps listed above, or if you're brave enough, CPQ (Carnival Party Quest - Spiegelmann)
35-51 - CPQ I (Its gonna be a long grind my friend) or if you're curious, Brown teddy map (Terrace I - Ludibrium)
51-70 - CPQ II (dont miss out on vamped version of CPQ, quickest in my opinion) Coolie Zombies (El Nath)
70-88- FoG (Forest of Golems), MP3 (Mysterious Path 3), or do PPQ (Pirate Party Quest in Mu Lung)
88-100- Wolf Spiders (NLC) (For most F/P builds, the poison will excel here!)
100-110- Gallopera (Kerning City -> Irene (Singapore) -> Audrey (Malaysia Tour Guide) -> Kampung Village -> Walk down 4 or 5 maps) Can also start leeching if you're funded...
110-120- Dreamy Ghost (Himes/Mushroom Shrine), Ulu1/Ulu2, Elderwraith(Zipangu) or leech. *At this point, unless you've spent profusely on scrolls and useless items, you can probably throw some mesos into leeching, way faster imo.
120 onwards - Honestly, this is where im currently at... im doing Ulu1/ulu2 with my friends for exp. Can also do skeles (Leafre)/ Petri (CBD), or leech

A note on the training once you start putting points into Meteor Shower, WHAT IS THAT MANA EXPENDITURE!?!?!??!

Update: My voice has been heard and Elemental Amplification has been reduced from 200% mana use to 100% mana use to deal 150% magic attack! Thanks MapleRoyal Devs!!!

Also, I've somehow made it to around lvl 145. Honestly don't know how i got there, but at this point, i really hope you had made a HS friend/buddy whose willing to go around and give you HS. I personally have a friend who started playing when i did and hes 15X now. Bishops are high in demand, but if you befriend one, your hard grinding days are over!

    Anyways back to the leveling.
    120+ : Skeles/Nest Golems/ Ulu I/ Ulu II/ Petri / Dukus / TOT (Temple of Time)
I've heard that bossing with F/Ps are not really desirable, but i was able to attend some minor boss fights: Pap, Capt L, Headless Horseman, Bigfoot (be careful, it can one shot you unless you have Hyper Body and only recommend for 140+ unless you've done some HP/MP washing)

As many others have said, if you can 1 hit monsters, sell leech for them, you make enough mesos for pot refills and more! Always look out for better/affordable gear that can increase your damage, unless you want to gamble big and scroll some things. Entirely up to you!
