How do you able to know if the exp % shown on the Mapleroyals website is real? Since the game developer can manipulate it just like what he did on Red packet drops? There's no transparency here too.. Not even announce it..
Do your math? Perhaps you can find out yourself? Snail in GMS gives 3 EXP. What's 3*3.2? 9.6. But since EXP does not get rewarded with decimal, it's rounded down to the nearest decimal place which is 9. (Correction: Decimal is always dropped). Regarding red packet, like Matt says, there's no need for us to announce it. It's drop rate was way beyond what was expected (about 4-5x more than what we originally intended it to be). Our expectation was only to be able to farm about 20-30 red packets per hour (maybe slightly more, and we used this figure based on the past few times we hosted the same event), not 200-300+. Once we saw that it was overpowered, we simply re-calculated it and applied the intended figure.

For what's worth, we don't go around modifying the drop rate (because it's troublesome on our end as well). Almost all drop rates haven't been modified for a very long time, and when it does get modified we will usually announce in the patch note (i.e. Heartstopper).
These days? It's been a steady 800 for a while. It's not what it used to be pre-new source but the population is still good. If you compare to other private servers the pop is huge. Royals tends to have more friendly people as well.
Considering most people have 2+ characters on at the same time, we don't really know for sure how many people are on using just the number on the home page.
theres a small chance nexon will make old school maple servers given the mega success of osrs. depends on whether korean players want old maple back as we get whatever they release. if that happens then rip royals theyll insta shut down no doubt.
Everyone has their own definition of Old School though They already failed badly in MS2, doubt they wanna risk with Old School MS1
v.89 would be the most appropriate patch. 4th job & pirates, with HT as endgame and pre-black mage canon. Vanilla v.89 scrolling & eq stats rules not the expanded godly system in royals. plus ms2 has insane startup costs as its a new game. Old school servers is no dev time at all so therefore no financial investment in dev so nexon doesnt lose very much if osms fails
I would say the true end-game of a nostalgic maplestory server is Pink Bean though . I think Timeless/Reverse weapon was available before potential and the nonsensical cube came into the picture.
I would never play another server and when mapleroyals shut down. I shut down my maplelife forever ! This shouldnt happen pls We have the best community with some funny fools I really like it. There is no other game which have so much writingcontent. My english teacher were really bad at all. I doubt they will go with Old School Server, they already failed badly with Maple Reboot - makes me feel like they have no idea what players want On the other hand, MapleRoyals do listen to player feedback and add custom content such as Toad Boss, Shanghai Map and more The admins also planned buffs for certain jobs as the jobs were designed in an unbalanced way from the start - such as Paladin, Buccaneer, Shadower In the situation of where there is indeed a legit Old School Server released by Nexon, I will still play MapleRoyals as the settings here are tuned for us already (I won't be including EXP / Drop rate) - Permanent Cash Clothes + Pet - Maxed Inventory - Godly System - Adjusted Skills - And of course, the friendly admins who will actually listen to players feedback (if the GMs in official maple are already ignoring players and don't police hackers and RWT much, I doubt they will police the Old School Server properly)
