Hello, everybody I'm a new player, and I'm so excited to play old Maple again. I remember playing old Maplestory all the way back 5 years ago before it got dinged by potential scrolls and what not. Before the Big Bang came, I had a lvl 140 Dark Knight. This time, however, I am confused about which warrior class to take: Hero or Dark Knight I remember grinding at himes with priests all the way from 80 - 120, which was ridiculously fun, and how Dragon Knights were the strongest third job class. However, they tend to scale off 4th job when Berzerk only activates at 50% hp and how they take more damage from super strong bosses despite having hyper body as compared to power guard. Do I really want to make another Dark Knight? I do remember Crusaders having a tough-as-nails time going from 70-120, and scaling off much better post 4th job. I always wanted to use a Hero Advice, anyone? Thanks On a side note: How easy will it be in this server to acquire items like Zakum Helmet, Pac, Deputy, Star, and WGs?
Should be posted in the Help and Advice section. Heros have more DPS then Dark Knights because Berserk 30 isn't available in the game just yet i.e. Horntail is bugged. If leveling up from 70-120 is tough, you could leech if you have the money. Even without leech, the server has a 4x exp rate so it isn't too bad. As for those equipment, the only one that might prove to be troublesome is the Zakum Helmet since there aren't always Zakum Runs every hour or so. Everything else is relatively common and cheap. Zakum Helmets: 100m 10 Attack Work Gloves: 100m Silver Deputy Star: 75m Pink Gaia Cape: 150m for 2 Attack. I'll respond fully with my suggestion at a later time.
Welcome to Maple Royals!! As for your question: Hero. Better in late-game in almost every aspect. But if you wanna enjoy the lvling more,the Dk has a lot more to offer than the sader. As for the items,it really depends on your merchant skills, took me half a year to get a good end game gear, my friend did it in 2 months. Scroll drops are somewhat common and equips dross are very common. You can make a large amount just by NPCing those drops and selling off some high in demand ores. Start out at Wild Boars and collect the leather, Power Crystal Ores, Steel Ores and NPC drops. You can easily make 15m an hour there.
Ty what ores are in high demand? O: Leathers too, for real? Boars are too high for my lvl 18 butt T.T
Leather is in demand because they're used to make Written Gloves and Facestompers. Most of the crystal ores aside from Dark are in demand because they are used to craft Dragon Weapons which are the best weapons in game. Most of the metal ores and jewels are worthless aside from their rare quest usage so ignore them.
Okay thank you. So reverse items dont exist in this game? One final thing: Do I need to raise Dex for my warrior? I remember doing it for my Dark Knight until about lvl 40 or so but I dont see any Dex requirements on the equipment here
The only reason why Warriors need Dex is for accuracy. That should be too much of an issue if you have some decent equips. There's a Warrior Guide in the guide section that you should check out for some more information on Warriors.
Just to correct something- leather is for work gloves, and it's not used in facestompers at all. However, steel ore is for facestompers.
Heroes are probably the better choice if you want something more stable at 4th Job. But I want to add that you don't need to worry that much about keeping your Berserk up at a level like 140. With some HP Washing it's rather easy to hit 30k HP at Level 130 (with Hyperbody), which is when you would have Max Berserk. And as long as you keep an eye on your hp bar, you shouldn't die even at higher level mobs or bosses. Also, Dark Knights have Dragon Roar which is still a good farming skill in 4th job. Overall my opinion is that Dark Knights are a little more interesting than Heroes.
