A true friend is someone who will be there when you are in trouble, down, happy and when you really need them.
For sure. I mean, a friend who isn't there for you isn't even a real friend at all. For me its pretty easy to tell who is my friend and who is not, mainly by these kind of things.
My concept of friend is more than just being there for you when you are down because almost everyone in my life will suddenly remember me when they are in trouble and that certainly make me feel like Internet Explorer. Mutual understanding is something that is lacking in friendship these days, so one might think yeah, having fun together trusting each other is a form of true friend. But for me such a term will not exist in my dictionary because human beings are mostly controlled by their own emotions and desires. No matter how trustworthy or reliable they may appear to be everyone will be selfish to a certain extend, to protect themselves from getting hurt. Nice, fun and loving people for all you know might just be putting a nice public face. That's why i never refer to those that i know as friends, I prefer being by myself, it's more easier for my life.
I feel a friend is someone who isn't simply someone you adventure with and do things together with, i feel it is someone who mutually enjoys your presence and enjoys talking to you as much as you do to them. without the need to persist in/for something(ulterior motives). As well as being able to trust that person.. but at the same time i agree with @Himiko. Everyone is selfish to an extent. While i love being there for others without wanting anything in return, it is saddening knowing people will take full advantage of that and still call you their "friend". All in all it's best to remain independent, i find the people i meet on royals much more bearable than people i've called "friends" in real life before. as pathetic as it may sound.
A good friend is someone: -I can complain to and gossip with. -I can be extremely loud or quiet around without out "real" complaints. -Someone I can insult/make fun of/be completely honest with them about ther stupid decisions in life without being butthurt . -Someone who I can do absolutely nothing with and not be bored. -Someone who I don't have to talk to every day to be considered good friends. -Someone I can send snapchats of myself taking a shit or a piss. -Someone who is there to listen about both awesome and bad things that happen throughout your day or week. -Someone who enjoys eating / doesn't mind having a lot of fat days -someone who can agree to disagree Everything vice versa Etcetc too lazy to type on my phone
