I love being a Archer, but when I want to train at FoG or somewhere where there's a lot of mobs, its very hard to train. And I believe that is also why there aren't many Archers on MapleRoyals. Could you guys possibly make the Archer class hit up close? I would really love that and I believe others would like that too. Thanks :3
I would also like crusader to hit hard from far away like genesis and shit. But that defeats the whole purpose of having a class meant to be taking touch damage.
Mages can hit up close and far away, so I am jealous of that class. Around V68 (Dunno exact), MapleStory made Archers to hit up close and I fell in love with the job cause I felt like a Mage XDDD, but I didn't want to be a Mage
haha Still, your argument is invalid cause ToT Wasn't in V62 and you're saying (before any GMs even saw this post) that They wont make it so Archers could hit up close.
This has been brought up before (can't find the thread atm) and the decision was no. I don't see that changing any time soon.
Absolutely not. Why would you even play a pre-big bang server if this is the type of gameplay you are looking for?
There are plenty of archers on this server. Why did you create one knowing that you dont like it? Why not make make a mage or something then?
Mages are more tanky than archers. Archers are suppost to stay far away so if you favor the cause of allowing archers hitting up close it will defeat the whole purpose how they were initially designed to be played. EDIT: Doesn't this apply to assassins as well?
By the very nature of the class, archers are long distance snipers meant to hit from far away. So are assassins. You get arrow rain/eruption later on which doesn't have a minimum distance, however Hermits still have to keep their distance with avenger or else they just punch mobs. There was a version where that was changed, and though it'd be nice for avenger to not have a minimum distance, I don't see the need for archers. It's all part of their class.
Yea, it's weird. I also suspected arrow rain could hit close up but I was waiting someone to confirm it.
You're supposed to use pkb at places like fog in second job. Archers and assassins didn't get made even easier until after big bang, at least. Gunslingers lost their minimum range before though, which is probably what you're getting confused with. Besides, losing minimum range means that archers lose two of their coolest skills, pkb and mortal blow, and it also makes dragon breath completely useless. These skills were removed at the same time as the removal of minimum range, for obvious reasons (except maybe DB).
If you're not doing 360 barrel roll reload cancel double fakey no hakey double Y claymore reverse 720 hagen hoogen across the map through the wall collateral final kill noscopes, you're not playing Archer correctly
Well, it'd be nice to have dragon breath working at close range. It's a straight attack that can't work up close, defeats the purpose of a knockback skill. But having a range class being completely melee isn't desirable.
I don't see that possible unless items have the setting to control that either. nexon probably removed being able to hit the monster with your bow at all unless you were out of arrows.
Y'know what really needs to be changed? If there was one thing that should be changed, it would be crusader's shout. DK's Dragon roar is actually like a dragon's roar. My animation is a tiger, but it's more like a pipsqueak mouse's squeak. Like come on, 10% dmg at 100% range at level 1? =_= Even max level it's nowhere as impressive as DK's. You know, knock-back is a special characteristic of archers, why remove something good about archers? What other job can normal attack and knockback?
Shout is not supposed to be anything like Dragon Roar. Dragon Roar is a high damage skill that is also used as an HP-reducer to enter the Berserk threshold. Dragon Roar's intended use, outside of lowering HP, is as a mob-killing attack. Shout, on the other hand, is used to aggro mobs, and, most importantly, stun them. The two skills are not supposed to be similar.
