lol, u forgot to mention that once u get the dragonfire ring, you have to go back to Chun Ji to finish the quest this is probably why i couldnt progress further with the quest -_- and wasn't getting the drops from the monsters

 

So this happened to me as well, you're speaking of after you got the ring, right? Make sure you report back to Chumji in Kerning City before going to Porter. I made this mistake and was also confused for a second. Hope this solves your problem

I didn't record the hours, but I think it took me maybe 6-8 hours of play time to complete. However, my answer is heavily influenced by a large amount of help received from my guildmates, so it probably isn't accurate.

 

Decided to give this a go on my BS. Collectively more than 1581 Blins and Morphed Blins killed to get 200 Blin's Flame:

About 344 Red Drakes for the Dragonfire Ring:

 

I'd say 344 drakes would take 15-20 min just because the map is so large and very few spawn. I think 20min is a good estimate for the ring.

I hate to keep knit-picking this guide because it is so well crafted and very helpful, but I don't think Blin's Flame drops 1 in 50 kills. That'd mean you'd have to kill about 10,000 Blins to get 200. I'd guess a more accurate number would be 1 in 20 or maybe even 1 in 15. I'm only saying this because when I first looked at the guide, 1 in 50 Blins and 5 hours to get the ring turned me off from doing it, but after doing it the numbers seem high.

Again, sorry if this sounds like I'm knit-picking your guide, I truly am not trying to! Thank you again for helping us jump-quest-disabled people!

 

Hey Ted, thanks for the offer with the help...but I hate to impose on people since I usually take my own sweet time with these things. But yeah, thanks for the kind gesture.

It took me about an hour for the ring. I was on CC15 for about 45 mins and decided to switch to CC16 for fun. Dropped in about 15 mins or less. This was of course I was slowly Tele+Shining Ray killing the mobs. Tele+Gen would have been faster perhaps?

For the Blin's Flame, you're on the money with the guess of about 1 drop in 15 to 20 kills. I did do a rough estimate and your guess matches mine.

I will continue posting later on the Dragonglass shards.

 

Personal notes

• For quest items that are tradeable, you can try to lump into sections (Victoria, Singapore etc). Just takes some planning. Example, I did the Mateon and Plateon drops at Omega Sector, Iron Hogs Hoof, Dragon Glass Shards, Drake's Blood at Victoria. Flaming Feather and Red Essence at Singapore.
  
• For the Star and Moon Rock, just craft it at the NPC. Tried hunting loads of MT-09s and Chief Grays and the drop rates must be really low. At the same time, refine these as well to save yourself some trouble:
• - 1 x Dark Crystal
  - 1 x Power Crystal
  - 1 x Wisdom Crystal
  - 1 x DEX Crystal
  - 1 x LUK Crystal
• DO NOT complete any of the Mateon or Plateon quests obtained from Omega Sector, or you will end up having to hunt more for this Alt Zak JQ storyline!!! Learn from my dumb mistake =x
  
• I decided to get Iron Hogs Metal Hoof at the Mushmom map since I can also channel surf and kill MM for some NX cards. By the time you know it, you would have completed the 600 hoofs needed.
• Dungeon: Drake Area - For the Dragon Shard Glass and Drake's Blood, I camped here as it has both Drake and Ice Drake spawn. BEWARE the Snack Bar area boss which spawns here. It's quite painful and can lead to death if you're low leveled. In my case, I stuck to the platform below or above it and Gene-ed away. Again, free NX cards while questing.
• AWESOME GUIDE!

 

Phewwwww, finally done with the Dragon shard glass bit. Average 10-15 kills for one etc drop.

 

Done!!!! Now I'm just contemplating if it's worth it to get a Zhelm with the introduction of Targa or Scarlion Helm ><
