lol like I said it's different for everyone, still gotta put in work to be where I wanna be just like anyone else
Little update, lost 2 lbs of fat since starting intermittent fasting, energy levels definitely up! Preworkout comes in tomorrow, can't wait!
Here's my current before after. The before is just over a year ago now but how my body would be naturally. The after is about 2 months ago maybe a bit less. If you want to follow my journey on Instagram, PM or whisp me in game. Nutrition, training, and other stuff. Yeah, in the beginning I used to feel like a dick taking photos of my skinny self, not that I'm not now... Glad I did though because it shows me that I have actually made progress even though I might not necessarily see it because I tend not to notice changes in myself very easily.
Nice one, do you eat much junk food or a pretty clean diet? Haven't read through much of the thread but do you track and calc your macros? If you haven't, this is pretty easy and makes massive differences. Even if you have added protein shakes to your regimen, many people's protein intake still isn't sufficient for solid muscle gain and with a bit of tweaking you could be stacking on muscle more easily. The majority of people I work with find that with a balanced, nutritious diet, they generally eat MORE, are fuller after eating, and body fat and gain muscle. It is important not to get hung up on weight specifically, as the old adage goes, muscle does weigh more than fat. However, it takes up less space in your body. Heh, I still would change some things (and am working on it!)
What's everyone top 3 favorite exercises, anyways? For me it has to be deadlifts, pendlay rows and overhead press.
Gj there man, looking lean. Time to get swole, very good potential. Here is my way from 2011 til mid 2013: And where I'm currently at (#filters #angle) Still cutting down. 6ft 191lbs Still need to lose about 2-3% bodyfat. Hope y'all archieve what you long for.
I thought I'd go ahead and post this study that I'm reading for my Men's Health class assignment: http://www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/NEJMoa0804748 Apparently, it doesn't matter what kind of composition, i.e. fats, carbs and protein, you eat if you're trying to lose weight.
You're reading a study that was done using just over 500 women and just under 300 men for a men's health class? Wat. Also, the study says in the adherence section that So they separated people by 10% in protein content, and then people ate +/- 5%..... and separated them by 30% in carbohydrate content, and people ate +/- 10-14% carbs from what they were assigned. I wonder why there was no differentiation? The average age for the study was 51 years +/- 9 years and the general weight loss was around 6kg after TWO YEARS on a 1500 calorie per day diet? I can lose 6kg on accident. I have to wonder what kind of activity level these people were at through the length of the study - most likely not good, considering they were old and overweight in the first place. Wonder how that changes things when you apply it to an active 20-something, since I would lose weight eating twice as much as they were. The higher fat/higher protein groups did have better changes in waist circumference, so if your goal is to look good rather than just drop weight, it might matter. It also says that low carb or low fat are better for cholesterol and anything but high carb is good for insulin levels - what a shock! I do agree with their main point though, that the most important thing is adhering to the diet at all. Interesting that there was a statistically significant correlation between attending meetings and actual weight loss, though I have to wonder if that's because those who went to the meetings lost more weight, or because those who were successful in losing weight wanted to go to the meetings?
http://bayesianbodybuilding.com/the-myth-of-1glb-optimal-protein-intake-for-bodybuilders/ pretty interesting read, makes me wanna test it out. but ofc everyone's body is different so it might not be 100% true.
While travelling I was with an IFBB Pro the whole time and lost a tonne of body fat as I was copying his eating and exercise. I kept cutting after getting back and just did a photoshoot. I'm guessing around 7% BF maybe less. I would've liked another week or 2 of cutting but oh well. Time to carb up again! Will put a few pics up when I get 'em next week.
Next week is deload week =(. Preparing to be as miserable as a chainsmoker quitting cigarettes.... But my joints, especially my right knee and left shoulder really need it anyway. Just gotta tell myself I get to come back stronger than ever!
