Why do people have a starting bid

if they won’t sell it until a reasonable price or a/w is met?

 

Just an idea.... low c/o = free bumps

 

If there is no A/W set it comes down after what time the seller decides to sell.

For example: selling 72 hours after the last bid

 

Becuase people love wasting other people's time

 

I think it's far worse when people are like "will sell 24/48/72 hours after last bid" and then proceed to sell it before the deadline is up. Like why even say that if you won't honor your word? So weird lol

 

Because they are idiots who have no idea how bid / auction works.

 

sb is the minimum they'll sell for so if they are honorable men and women they will sell when they claim the bid is up therefore a sb makes sense

exactly I was s/b for an item for like 2 weeks then i messaged the guy asking him every other day when hes gonna sell and last message he told me hes only selling for a/w no lower. Why have a starting bid then???

That's not how an auction works. You sell it for whatever the price ends on by the time the bidding is up.
