New players: before investing any time... READ THIS

The GMs (game masters/admins) of MapleRoyals are unfriendly, unprofessional, and downright unfair
They are tripping on the small power that they have as GMs in a Maplestory private server and will hand out bans to undeserving players while hackers run amok in their server

The TLDR: I let my friend finish my zakum jump quest because I got frustrated (I was not aware account sharing was not allowed). Through DM I let a GM know about it because I wanted to change my password to keep my account secure. I was promptly given a permanent IP ban, even though I pleaded and pleaded.

I invested about 200 hours leveling up a character to level 100+ only to have it perma-banned for a small mistake.
They expect you to read every single line of their (ambiguous) rules upon sign up... like honestly who does that?
The GMs here simply don't care about the friendships you made, the memories you forged, and the hours you put into the community.
If you value your time this server is a very risky one to play on.

I suggest you explore other options for maple private servers. Just because this server is voted #1 does not mean it is the best.
P.S. Do not read the comments as they will be sucking up to the GMs and defending them. Judge for yourself, and act for yourself. I speak only the truth.

XD, I was not going to suck anhthing from gms, but that pd, means dont listen to anybody, just listen to me? Call unprofessional someone when u didnt read the rules after, and even worse BEFORE, claiming that u not only did acount shar even doed rwt, and u complain? Account Sharing - The act of sharing the use your account, sharing account information with any other individual, or the act of logging into or otherwise using an account owned by another person, with or without permission, regardless of whether or not the information was directly or indirectly shared. Punishment: First offense - 30 day ban, Second offense - Permanent ban. So you didn’t read the rules, broke a rule which results in a permanent ban, and somehow this is the fault of our staff?

It isn’t difficult. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Especially considering there is an alternative to the JQ where you simply need to farm things (as somebody who cant do the JQ either, this is what I did instead of neglecting to read the rules and breaking them because of my own inabilities—crazy, I know). Use this as a learning experience and take ownership for your actions instead of placing the blame on those who simply enforce the rules as outlined.


Edit: and I am the type who is arguably overly critical of our staff—verifiable through even my most recent post history should you be skeptical of my word.

Instead of lowkey memeing like I did in your thread there, I'll be more serious here.

You consistently refuse to accept that it's no one else's fault but your own that you were too lazy to read the rules, you broke a rule, and you were punished according to the rules. It really comes down to you wanting to blame other people for your own screw up because you want to be the oppressed victim. When in reality, you're just a player who broke a rule and your actions had consequences that you don't want to accept because you don't want to admit to yourself that you're in the wrong and no one else.

Over the years, we've seen many, many people who were banned for seemingly innocuous things. There was a big one in 2016 I remember that had a firestorm of conversation back then when us regular players were allowed to comment on ban appeals and abuse reports. A relatively well known and well liked player was frustrated that they failed so many Gen 20s that they said in their guild chat "B>Gen 20, will pay via PayPal." And they were reported and thus permanently banned for RWT. Everyone knew that that player was only joking. Even the staff members agreed the person was just joking. But the permanent ban was upheld. Do you know why? Because the rules are the rules for a reason. If we allowed "haha it was just a joke XD" then that provides a loophole in the rules to let legitimate RWTers to get away with breaking the rules. Royals is fair precisely because it is consistent and strict in its rule adherence. Even rulebreakers who are our friends, who everyone including staff believes are innocent, are given the same punishment. That's how Royals maintains its server and safe to say it's been around for over six years now so it's been working.

It's perfectly fine to not like Royals. People come and go and it's no exaggeration to say that thousands have been banned from here, of which you are one of them. Royals will be just fine without them and you and you'll be just fine without Royals. But throwing a tantrum like a bratty child isn't the way to go about life when things don't go your way. Part of being an adult is to recognize hey, yeah, that was my fault. And hopefully go forward with the resolve to be better in the future. Accepting the consequences of your actions is a part of growing up. Hopefully you develop those life skills and you won't cast yourself as this victim oppressed and wronged by an inhumane regime. Because you're not. You were just too damn lazy to read the rules. Your fault, no one else's.

lame af. perma ban for account sharing is pretty insane. majority of gms and the server shares equips and gain an edge that way so im really lost as to why this is such a major offense.

 

There is no practical way to prevent or combat buying/selling accounts when account sharing isn't entirely prohibited.

 

Imagine you are in middle school and your favorite pastime is playing Xbox with your older brother. Your favorite game is Dark Souls. This game is very special to you because your mom gave it to you for Christmas and it is your first rated M game. What's more, Dark Souls is not just any game. No, playing Dark Souls is a gargantuan undertaking with danger lurking at every turn, perhaps representing the adult world you have yet to discover outside of your suburban realm of existence.

After a few months of slow progress there is one part of Dark Souls that is really killing you. You are trying to get to Blight Town. But, you keep getting poisoned or knocked off the bridge to Blight Town. You have done well to come this far, but just can't get past this part no matter how much you try. Through persistence, you just can't get it. So, you lower your pride and ask your older brother for help. Your brother grudgingly agrees. Yes! Finally a light in the darkness.

Your brother finally sits down and takes the controller in hand. He fills up on antidotes and makes his way through the dark sewers and to the perilous bridge. Palms sweaty, he grits his teeth and starts making his way across, avoiding obstacle after obstacle and excitement builds in your veins.

As the next bonfire is finally within reach, a dark, hazy red figure appears in the foreground. It's a demon overseer from the underworld here to stop you dead in your tracks. The demon approaches and raises his behemoth sized bloody blade in the air for a fatal blow. Your brother jerks the control to the side, in a desperate roll for safety. The entire room rolls to its side. Quick as lightning, the overseer glides over you, weapon raised and poised for you to come out of your roll. AHHHHHHH.
