I'm looking for someone to give me a quick update on the current status of pirate (specifically those wielding knuckles) skills. I have been popping in and out of royals the past year waiting for the class to be fixed (or closer to it). I always looked at this thread, but I'm not sure if it's updated as of right now. I heard si was a go, so I got excited thinking the class was back up to its .v62 former glory and logged in, but when I did, energy blast was still EXTREMELY slow and charge was up like all the time, so getting through 3rd job is still very difficult. I did do a quick forum search, but I didn't see anything updated to what I thought was sufficient within a minute or 2. So I'd appreciate it if someone would fill me in. I hope one day my pirate can be like he was a long time ago. Until then, I will wait. Please don't forget about us! Thanks guys. Bucc4life
Not much has changed except SI. Energy blast is still slow, energy orb does no damage at all, charge is extremely fast. SI has been given a quick fix or something of the sort- it doesnt stack with booster, but replaces it with a higher speed instead, and at level 1 instead of increasing at each level. I too hope for a fix- I would also love to be able to use barrage and what not inside transformation although that was changed slightly later...
Is energy charge used throughout 4th job as well or are pretty all the skills replaces by Dragon Strike and Barrage?
Energy charge is the passive buff. Energy blast, you mean, is pretty useful, but it should be used alongside energy orb as well. It's a good mobbing skill, and Dragon strike has a delay as well- you could easily time a blast or two in between each DS for higher mobs like skeles bottom.
Buccs should leave the energy skills all together at around level 125+. For single target the barrage+dragon strike combo is WAY more potent than any combo with energy charge (and later demolition) For mob attacking it is the aim to stun and gather your mobs with your elbow move and then dragonstrike them with the gained critical strike advantage. This kills your mobs quicker than the 3rd job energy moves. All in all once you get past the admittedly tough and buggy marauder levels, all current bugs shouldnt affect your gameplay much if at all.
Might be a bit off topic, but what's your damage compared to a a Hero and what's the %/Hour you get via grinding at 130-150?
It WILL be slow at 130, since you need a lot of skills maxed to reach full potential. I suggest finding people to duo BF's with till around 140+. Right around 150 you'll be reaching full potential, with barrage, dragon strike, demolition maxed. This is where you'll actually compete with most warriors. I myself grinded 130-150 in around 2 weeks, but this was mainly cause I had a lot of good duo's (The top warrior at the time, the top bowmaster at the time, one of the top NL's). At this point I kill a Bigfoot in around 8-9mins without attack pots. Note that my equips are far from godly, so it could be a lot quicker. So I'd say that with godly equips I would be out-damaging a lot of heroes that are around my level.
Outdamaging is terms of similar funding or just an average Hero with some standard equips like 127 Sparta, 20 Shield, 15 SCG? What do you equips look like now? I'm surprised to hear that a Bucc can even get close to a Hero's DPS.
It's nearly an art when watching Buccs play. I've always thought them as nothing more than SI mules, but after hearing that they can come close to Hero DPS, this makes me reconsider.
