    Even after the many many changes leading up to bb, after the bb patch, it still had this intended effect

    Or, have final attack work with snipes and tack on a decent att% bonus based on range to keep snipe from becoming obsolete late game

    Testing ninja ambush out on my shad against bombing fish houses (who's weapon cancel buff lasts longer than my lvl 1 NA) by going prone and doing a 1 dmg attack to proc their weapon cancel shows that ninja ambush still deals damage through weapon cancel, meaning snipe was intentionally flagged to break weapon cancel, it was an intended add on effect, not something that would be overlooked, talked about, used, and unpatched until the skill completely changed. Gonna have to disagree with the idea that it was a bug.

    Ninja ambush on the other hand, is extremely weak, maybe useful maxed but I've never heard of anyone using it for anything or wasting points to max it the time it takes to cast vs how long it lasts is a dpm drop liability to even use it. The argument could be made both were bugged, but given the low population of shads even back in the day, especially high enough leveled shads to utilize or invest in NA and never hearing about this, and given the description of the skil (ambushes monsters, snipes: lethal blow to weak spot) its surely intentional, since it's not a magic attack and it's based on your current range. The numbers appearing arent bug number either, damage is done to monsters through cancel. The difference is ambush CAN'T kill a mob, like heavens hammer. However, all three are flagged intentionally to bypass cancel, snipe seems to have been singled out?

    I use ninja ambush on my NL when bosses are on weapon cancel, it's the only real use of this skill. It hits around 3800 at Max lvl with a lvl 200 char and seems to scale with your stats rather than ATk gear (similar to the archer summons)

    My point being, snipe seems to have been singled out, rather than "all" attacks

    Also pardon my bias and frustration against NL, hands down top attackers, also being able to rake in damage during cancel and Mm getting a nerf lol

    You're missing the point, mm got a nerf in the name of bug fixing, but nightlords can still do the exact same thing while sitting down during w. cancel and being top tier as well. I'm not calling for meta game changes or tier improvements, it's not at all where this thread is at

    I was reading through all the interesting discussions but I have to stop you on some of the sair related points.
    Have you been to HT with your sair? Low avoid beats the living daylight out of corsairs who compete with NLs in HT. Just reclimbing the rope alone takes 2~4 tries on average because we are constantly knocked off by relentless magic attacks. Only sair and archers are constantly KBed by all the spammed magic damage but the worst goes for sairs with lowest avoid.

    I dunno about strafe but the range (distance) of cannon is shorter than triple throw, which is shorter than hurricane. I'm surprised no one pointed this out yet.

    Distance: Hurricane > TT > cannon

    Which is very peculiar because how do ppl throw stars and shoot arrows further than a freaking cannon ball shot by a ship o_O

    You gotta seriously try more content before you can say these so confidently. In which boss did you white those ppl? Reality in royals is that most sairs get whited by similarly funded NLs or even buccs/pallies unless they are hitting a brick wall (Krex). Shaolin and HT are great examples. The worst I've been to so far was Nibergen which frequently drops bombs that knocks you back all the way to the left edge of the screen then sends out yellow balls which count as physical object that will cancel your rapid fire and turn it into a whacking animation. Thief classes with fancy avoid + shifter and warriors with 90% stance hardly feel a breeze in this boss.

    Corsair is a high risk - high reward class but as a sair main, I must say it's a dead tiring class to play when you are serious about the DPS outcome. Lack of avoidability and necessity of sophisticated control are massive cons of this class which makes it perfectly balanced with other lower single DPS classes. Otherwise, it'd be the 2nd most popular class after NL but that's not even close to the truth.

    Sorry to interrupt the MM discussion. Just felt the need to point out the misinformed parts.

    Zak runs mostly. I've never been to HT or anything beyond, but if sairs had any more avoid or stance (like a toggle on/off anchor skill while in ship) they'd be busted. Doesn't invalidate my experience, and yeah fairly unrelated, except in comparison to MM,which was a while back.

    More importantly, NL (and shads) can break thru cancel right now, after the patch lol, and if it were lost they'd lose nothing, but MM did lose their weapon cancel attack, and are affected and nerfed from it. Bogus double standard, especially since NL already dominate

    -something like a 20% (or higher?) immunity to darkness status packed into either marksman boost, snipe, frostprey, or blind would be rad, and just so apropos and rewarding for the class.
    small class specific perks like this make me super happy and give them all more feel. Mages get big elemental defensive buffs so this is kinda like that, but just against a status affliction chance, not damage

    -lower/remove the minimum distance to fire piercing arrow. Big, clunky charge attack that can be canceled if hit when firing also has a min distance that can crash the attack too. Possibly the most productive improvement would be to lower or remove the min. distance to fire it off, especially because it's a charge attack and just blasts through enemies by nature but mostly because it's another reason it really holds this attack back

    i heard if u leech 12 hrs a day everyday for 2 months straight ur fingers get so strong that they can throw stars further than a cannon ball shot by a tiny ship ;)

    Thread locked as requested. I've moved this thread to Accepted in light of reverting the changes to Snipe. I know most of these specific suggestions were not implemented, so players should feel free to submit new and additional feedback regarding the state of MM.
