Hello, I am a new member and have not installed MapleRoyals yet. However, I have a few questions about the installation process. Since my antivirus always blocks the files, I've decided to install all the files into one folder which is excluded from virus scans. Is It possible to choose which folder the game is installed into? Also, what causes the false positive that makes antiviruses think it's a virus in the first place? Hopefully, if everything goes well, I'll be back to playing MapleStory soon.
If you have issues with the installer, you can try copying just the wz files over. http://royals.ms/downloads/wz/ But you'll have to find a place to download the DLL files which include: wzmss.dll ZLZ.dll WzFlashRenderer.dll Sound_DX8.dll Shape2D.dll ResMan.dll PCOM.dll npkpdb.dll npkcrypt.vxd npkcrypt.dll NAudio.dll NameSpace.dll MapleLib.dll ijl15.dll Gr2D_DX8.dll Canvas.dll Which is quite a few of them to find manually. I bet someone could send you them over skype. Just be wary of who you trust. DLL files can be infected with malware. As for the false positive, I assume that the anti-malware softwares have identified the official version of the maplestory client, memorizing the file hash. If the hash is different it might go off. Also some anti-malware softwares have the ability to find remote addresses in executable files. If this is the case, they can also go off if the remote address is not the same as was found in the original client. (most likely was maplestory.com in the original, now it's royals.ms)
