Is it possible to make a separate post on Technical Help regarding this? As there are many HP players that might ask other questions on this, and this thread is about update 60's errors
Anyone knows how to solve the problem where it says "Windows is searching for MapleRoyals.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse."
Hello everyone, my boyfriend and I are having trouble on our own accounts with the new patch update for the latest setup for mapleroyals, I am using Windows 10 and so far, only downloaded mirror 1, did I do something wrong? perhaps, missing a step or two? Please respond to this asap.
I'm getting api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing errors. I did a lot of messing around with installing/uninstalling and reinstalling Visual C++ and once or twice got MSVCP140.dll is missing errors. I'm back to the api-ms one now though and am lost. I turned off my anti-virus, installed, and before attempting to start the game looked for this file in the folder and found nothing. Could that indicate the source of the problem? I've checked quarantine and did my best to shut everything down. I don't know any other program that could be messing with the files. Any ideas?
You can ignore the dinput8, it was only for the update 60, now is 65 Have you installed the https://aka.ms/vs/15/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
Sorry... should have posted over in another thread I suppose? Thank you for your prompt reply. I read it right away and have been working on it since, ready to report back! I went ahead and tried to install that and did just fine. I then went to start Maple and got the same error. I reinstalled and then same error. I restarted and tried to start Maple, same error. I then reinstalled and got the "virus" error with dark background I've seen in other threads which was strangely reassuring there's progress been made. I turned off anti-virus and double checked that Windows Defender is off and resinstalled. Aaaaaaaaannd.... I got the original error again...
Can you try to install this as well? https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net48-web-installer Basically is Windows stuff to make things run
Can you try this instead then? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-7
That gave me the same file actually and didn't work. I was investigating how to see what I might have installed and found this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/do...how-to-determine-which-versions-are-installed I used registry editor and found I do have 4.5 or later installed. Here's what I found:
Can only find this, which is the file you should have already installed https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-missing/b593b94e-6691-423b-a586-0b7f10131e35
I actually found that one earlier, and I tried to DL them again anyway (already had identical files from before but opened the new ones anyways just to be sure) and they both gave errors that it was already installed. EDIT: These are the only ones I have in the whole list. Thanks for your help... a real head scratcher... https://tenor.com/view/cat-hiss-cat-hiss-mean-cat-leave-me-alone-gif-16182916 One method I tried had me uninstall some of those and reinstall them manually with microsoft updates off as shown here. Could that be an issue?
The second only had an uninstall option but repaired first and third to "setup successful" or something like that. I then installed and no luck. Grr...
Just made something worked for another player Uninstall the files first Then install this https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=48145 If display msvcp140.dll was not found, then install the https://aka.ms/vs/15/release/vc_redist.x86.exe Have to install them in this order
Oh that's great!! Thank you again for all your help. So I uninstalled a Visual C++ filse and started... I got this error installing the x64 first: Error 0x80240017: Failed to execute MSU package. Error 0x80240017: Failed to configure per-machine MSU package But it still appears in my programs list and starts to give me the msvcp error. So I then installed the x86 and I'm back at the api-ms error. I'll try and mess with it tomorrow but I'm going to head to bed now. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for being so patient to deal with these issues everyone is having. It's annoying when they're your own but trying to coach someone through solving these issues must be even worse. Good night from USA!
