I feel that the economy is getting to a point where mesos are worth less and less by the day. I propose that there be a money sink that would add an interesting element into the game as well as take out billions of mesos out of circulation. With the current rates that I've been seeing through my time playing on the server, I won't be surprised that 500m+ comes into circulation every hour of every day. Any thoughts? Of course, this conversion is very touchy and I doubt many, if any, of the suggestions will be taken into consideration, but it's still a looming issue that the server has to deal with. Recently, @Matt added the Owl of Minerva for a small fee of mesos which is a step in the right direction and effectively took out 2b mesos in the economy. Hopefully more items such as this will be implemented. Some examples that I can think of are: Item Smegas Portable Shop Merchants Portable Storage Keeper AP Resets Teleport Rocks Safety Charms Pink Tube Weapons (Level 30) Exclusive NX Equips that only can be bought with mesos and only last a week Item Smegas: 5 regular Super Megaphones + 1m mesos Portable Shop Merchant: 3m each Portable Storage Keeper: 3m each AP Reset: 8-10m each Teleport Rock: 2m each Safety Charm: 3m each Pink Tube Weapons (Level 30): 30m
I feel like if highly sought after items were easily available it would ruin their value heavily. As it is, ws chaos scrolls bvm things like that are sufficiently rare enough that people rarely have to wait before it sells. There's plenty of people who want it- an increasing demand and a small supply. If they were easily purchasable then it would ruin that value. Anyone who just had money (or a 4th job mage) could perfect their weapons without a hassle. The hassle, the struggle, that's why we play a low rate server. I feel it'd be too easy. One thing I like the idea of is merchants being available for mesos as well. But how much? It's hard to determine a value for something like that. New players need one rather early on, and it's unlikely theyll have over 50-100m by the time they need one. But too cheap and people can just stock up on alts with no consequence- with them costing 10k nx that's two days of voting just to get. 10k less that you can put into a gach run or something. Slowly is the best way to do money sinks. Owl of Minerva is a good step. Give it some time to see how it helps and how it works before we try more.
The only things I would support are the telly rocks and the safety charms. Any of those other items would be too game breaking imo.
Having those only for mesos would be great only a few tp/safety charms sellers will lose on this but people still buy ap resets. Also i feel newer players would benefit from having a market with less mesos. Increasing the fees on the merchant and actually take out a fee would be good.
That's one way to do it, but I think many people will be against this too much and should only be reserved as a last resort Perhaps the White Scrolls, Chaos Scrolls and possibly rarer iTCG materials, but I can't see buying AP Resets being a relatively bad money sink. That way, if people want to make money via NX, they'll have to buy Gachapon tickets and bring slightly more highly sought after items into the game. As I've said in another thread, I made the Community Money Making Thread for a reason and that's too show that with some patience, anyone can be as rich as the next person if they use their time wisely and effectively. Everyone will benefit from less mesos in circulation. I actually meant merchants that you would be able to sell stuff and recharge your ammunition.
I know those stores it's pretty useful and having them for a high meso price only and time limit, I would like it. You will save time at a high cost. For you who don't know of the store it's basically a merchant you can open anywhere even boss maps and you can recharge stars/bullets buy basic pots sell items. If it where to come even selling nlc pots would make it more reason to buy it.
I'm actually not too sure how to explain it more than portable shop merchants so I'll just leave it as that and correct the few that may interpret it differently.
Correct. It'll just pop up a shop a screen and from there, it'll act as a regular shop. Once you open it, one usage is gone and you'll have to use it again. This could be remedied by having a Priest/Bishop alt, but I still think this will be appealing to many for the right price.
I think that one time items are kinda out of point like merchants and stuff... Heartstoppers and red ciders would be good idea tho because every high level almost bosses everyday.
I don't see how they could be useless as a money sink. The entire premise of a money sink is for people to constantly buy a certain item so that a good flow of mesos leaves the market. If they weren't one time use, the mesos flow will eventually comes to a relative standstill and won't fix the economy at all. If Heartstoppers or Red Ciders were to become buyable, there would need to be a substitution of those drops from the respective monsters. I'd be for it if it was an equal exchange.
Would be too easy if you can buy attack pots like that, people should do a lot more Apq and then no problem with attack pots. Increase Apq drops!!!!!!!!
I'm for having another decent attack potion simply because the usage will be very high therefore, more mesos out of circulation very quickly.
Let's say I bought a portable merchant for my character, Im gonna buy it only once for 100m and never gonna buy it again till I open a new character.Where is the point. And if matt's add heartstoppers for 1m each in a merchant people still will be able make money from it cause its current price is 650-700k.
I meant a portable merchant you can use in any map and it will bring up a shop screen where you can buy and sell items as well add recharge your ammunition.
I personally don't want this.. I feel like being able to buy these things so easily would ruin the idea of a realistic pre big bang server.
how about increasing the money which is needed for the gamble game in kerning city? atm its like 100k ea time or something like that, i've never done it myselve but you could make a big lottery npc like that in fm or something? ofc it could also increase the money in the circulation but if the winning chance is a bit lower then the losing chance, like 45 tot 55 people are still willing to gamble yet statistically speaking money should drop on the long run? not sure if anyone would do it though >< but idk what rich people do with their money
These are all just suggestions. In testing the waters and going hyper aggressive on the ideas. I've never heard of anyone that's done this to the extent of losing a huge chuck of money so I can't see this going to well.
Most forms of gambling are usually regressive , that is the poorer people usually pay a far larger percentile of their income on them. Whilst that may not apply here to the same degree as there is a far lower correlation between wealth and intelligence in this game than in real life, it's still quite likely to put newer players at a disadvantage if they're aware of its existence.
