I think if this was added then it would have to be nerfed significantly anyways, though worth enough to grind through countless quests, HTs, Zakums, and whatnot boss runs and other requirements. Maybe even make it a prequest to have the master collector medal so that every 100 full sets it lvls up 1 time. What im trying to say is that this should be implemented to imply exploration and actual playing of the game. Also it wouldnt make alchemist rings obsolete since those are tradeable and useable for low level chars aswell. Grinding for that 1 ring, until lvl 17, with all those requirements is probably 1000+ hours of gameplay. Idk for 1k petri sell hours people could buy a good set of equipment instead of trying to get that 1 endgame ring that adds, compared to the effort, relatively low stats. Regarding the 100 HT run requirement idea. As said earlier before, this would make Archmages form parties to HT as 30 people, which is probably alot of fun, especially for the people who main AM ... And disconnects. But you get the idea.
Wouldn't it be cool if the Evolving ring was tied to the Temple of Time? That way participation in ToT is increased and I can grind with friends/randoms there instead of being questioned on why ToT should be done
That's a great idea. Evolving with your character u could say every 20 levels 1 lv then 1 lv with a job adv then like completing zak prequests could give it a level but I would add a feature if its traded it stops leveling cuz to meny Merch's would farm a few levels and sell the ring but I remember back when I played global evolving rings where so cool I just dont remember what event it was XD
I love the idea, but please, make it UNTRADEABLE. It's OP, and I dont want to see this thing flood the market. It should be made untradeable.
IMO I think it should be character bound, and focused on as an end game item like MON, HTP etc. I'd like to see it as an equip for +150 plus. Random Tangent* I'm glad the game has not put in SoK's just because going through the bosses to loot the gear is fun, and gives a rewarding experience if you live and don't DC from it.
Definitly. Soks and take a flying leap we dont need that cancer in the game but If it's an "event " I would like it storage tradable but if its given out like the snail pet in reboot all year around then I agree untradeable u know what I mean
If Royals would release by any time this ring. Nerf it please or let it stay until lvl 13 pls, any higher as this is quite OP. Just my 2 Cents
Kai has I think the best base solution for the most part which is: For every 50 levels, evolve 1 time (so total 4 evolutions). For every 100 quests, evolve 1 time (there are more than 800 quests available, doing 800 would evolve 8 times) The remaining 5 levels can be based on how many bosses you killed (e.g. kill 100 zakum to evolve 1, 100 HT another, etc). - Personally the Zak is good, it's a boss we could all get to without washing. My thoughts on potential requirements: - 1 MILLION GPQ runs (not really but a high number. I think it would help make joining a guild more of an incentive possibly leading on to a deeper depth of getting to know people and making friends). - The completion of JQ's (because there is nothing more emotionally rewarding/devastating to fail/complete them.) - Maybe reaching a certain amount of fame? +/- 500? It's a ring that would take time and dedication to get. :3
I think if it stays out of the free market and it isnt easily obtainable its op and desired end game potential would be a beautiful pay off cuz it would start off at lv1 and u have to earn them stats hypatheticly it wouldent be in I think 1 level every 20 levels would be fair at 200 it would be lv 10 ya know then add other obligations or achievements to get the other levels but I agree it should not be easily obtained and stay out of the economy so it dont break the market I think it should be an event not part of some youtubers equipment guide ya know what I mean and quests and bossing would be one sided cuz I play casual and I do not do quests besides like pre's . Or the dep star quest. But the common goal depending on any play style is to level up then say 3rd or 4th job adv give it a level instead of spaciffic tasks like kill ht 100 times it should just progress with your character
If properly balanced, this could definitely be a neat way to encourage more exploration of the content Maple offers (as opposed to living in the meta maps of skele/ulu/petri/HT/you name it ). This would add a nice new challenge on top of Quest Specialist and Monster Book as well. However, I think the 8 levels for 800 quests idea would be too much overlap with Quest Specialist. Existing/aspiring quest specialists are probably the ones most looking forward to new challenges and content to do anyways, so it'd be a waste if a large part of the progression is automatically trivialized for them. To me, the addition of Monster Book is a great example. It has just the right amount of overlap with Quest Specialist, where doing them in parallel could be nice sometimes, but one really only marginally helps with the other. Plus, their underlying objectives are actually quite different, i.e. Monster book mostly involves grinding and exploring new maps, while Quest Specialist involves lots of time spent walking around towns, talking to NPCs, getting unique quest items, etc. So if questing were to be part of the progression (it should be!), maybe something more special would be nice, like finishing all the jump quests which some have suggested, or finishing all the classic quest lines (e.g. the OG quests with Maya, Manji, Alfonso Green, Alcaster, etc ), or finishing all quests on a continent (kind of similar to the explorer medals but for quests), and so on.
What if... the rings could "de-evolve" or had maintenance associated with them... Whether the milestone associated with leveling the ring up is time, or quests, or some sort of activity, what if achieving said milestones levels the ring from Level 0 to Level 17... And then for every N days that a milestone is not achieved, the ring decreases 1 in level. This would sort of require active and consistent gameplay to maintain the ring at Level 17. This way, you couldn't easily hoard a ring on each of your 239040293 characters. Having a permanent progression would allow a person to theoretically obtain infinitely many (to the limit of the # of characters they are willing to make) of these rings, as they would never decrease in rank. E.g., assuming that a milestone is playing for one hour, after 17 days of playing for 1 hour each day, you would reach a level 17 ring. But then on your 18th day, you choose not to play. Your ring would then de-level to be a level 16 ring. In which case, returning and playing another hour would bring it back to level 17. Likewise, choosing not to play for two days would bring it down to a Level 15 ring, requiring an additional two days to bring it back to Level 17.
