Gambling and real world trading are not mutually exclusive scenarios.

Sure, gambling is allowed, ie S>MW20, if pass 3b, if fail, 1.5b

But when it involves any platform(s)/avenue outside of Royals as is the one in the thread you linked, then it's not allowed. Not that complicated, really.

Honestly, the mods on this server are ridiculously trigger happy. There is no mention of RWT anywhere that should warrant an instant "perma ban"... 1v1 in fortnite is considered RWT?? Even though they came around to reducing the ban to 30 days, that's still so harsh.

Offering mesos for anything beyond MapleStory is RealWorldTrading ... eg. offering mesos for nudes, gaming/gambling, money, and offering mesos for people to watch a streamer ...

Reading ban appeals can be really amusing sometimes, people actually get banned for it

Consider reading the game rules before commenting whether or not it's mentioned anywhere that RWT warrants an insta perma ban. Also, when you log-in to the game for the first time, try to read the pop up instead of just scrolling all the way down to agree you've read them when you clearly haven't. On top of that, when you're in game, try to pay attention to the RoyalTips that pop up in yellow font from time to time.

    Just because you don't/can't read, doesn't mean the rule wasn't explicitly stated A N Y W H E R E.

Not everybody is a lawyer. Even good citizens accidentally break the law at times. I would hate to have you write a justice system in the real world. Oops, I went a little over the speed limit? Don't just fine the guy, give him life in jail or the death penalty! Same treatment we give murderers and rapists! That'll show em!

Besides the fact that this was a joke, an unfunny stupid one I might add, if you can't empathize that this case is minor (and EASILY misunderstood by a significant party of the population) to hacking, botting, or actual RWT as understood by everybody without reading the fine print, then I really lost hope.

This definitely does not deserve an instant permaban and I'm really glad the mods came around to their senses.

I thought real world trading was for real world items such as money and or items that are physical objects in the "real world."
I was thinking if trading mesos for items in maplestory isn't considered real world trading (because its virtual items for virtual items for virtual items) then it would be acceptable to trade maplestory mesos for things in other games as long as both players agreed upon the deal.
I still wouldn't consider it "real world trading" I would call it something like "cross platform trading"

    Here's a lawyer thought:
Mapleroyals is not allowed to sell anything because the game is not copywrited, so instead they accept donations.
Could I say that I am accepting donations in the form of mapleroyals mesos, and giving real world gifts in return?

I think i just recently saw a person's character named like this:

    SIforNUDES

would this not be considered RWT, since it's an ingamename and not a written sentence in chat/party/BL chat/ Super megaphone?

So if anybody reported that person he'd be permanently banned from the game for naming one of his characters indirectly soliciting RWT, without having to write it?

Not to mention that anybody without a stick up theirs will realize that the name is clearly a joke.

That's sort of the definition of RWT.

Speaking of rules, you're only allowed to have 1 forum account- sort of explains how a 2020 account is so... familiar with the donation thing lol.

It's a fine line- to be sure, but I'm almost certain if you tried to pull that in game you'd get banned. This is where "discretion" comes from, and we've used it in the past when people intentionally step over the rules by "technically not breaking them". It costs 0 mesos, dollars, and warning points to be a decent human being and just play the game, if you're looking for ways to get around a perm ban, IMO, you're missing the entire point.

Here's a lawyer answer: Accepting donations and providing gifts in return is considered a transaction (in other words, a "trade") under contract law. This is due to the fact that there is sufficient "consideration" between the two parties of the exchange. You may refer to the Uniform Commercial Code for more detailed information.

I'm mainly here because I feel the need to point out the fact that this makes absolutely no sense.

I never understood the joke defense.

"Sell (insert anything outside of the game here) for X amount of mesos... just a joke though"
Haha? Am I dumb and don't get the fun in this joke, or what?
