High-Level Leech Analysis | Duku vs Petri/Skele

    I am Meiyaru of Peach.

    The purpose of this post is to inform the community about the new High-Level leeching map that surpasses both
    Petrifighters and Skelegon/Skelesaurus
    in terms of EXP/Hr and that is. . .

    Destroyed Park I (Duku)!!!

    Duku is one of the monsters hunted during Krexel’s prequest.
    They are level 115, meaning you must be level 110 to leech.
    Destroyed Park I is the map right after Ulu City Center. It is the map right before Krex!

    Patch 65.1 states the following:

    So, how much experience do Duku’s give? I will use Petrifighters as a comparison.
    IMPORTANT! All EXP numbers are from the leech seller (Arch Mage|Bishop) PoV - NOT the leech buyer

    Petri
    I have a level 140 Arch Mage (Yukilina) that is capable of 1hitting Petri. I have level locked it because there is no advantage of leveling up further after you can 1hit. At the end of each hour, I would suicide my Arch Mage to 0.00% to safeguard against accidently leveling up during the next hour of leeching (which almost happened twice because I was not paying attention).

    This means at the beginning of each leech, my Arch Mage would start at 0.00% experience. Split leeches were much more common than solo leeches for economic reasons and I began to notice after countless hours of leeching that my Arch Mage would consistently have above 68% experience but less than 69% after 1 hour of a split leech.


    My Arch Mage is level 140 (69,100,311 exp to level up)


    68% = 46,988,211 EXP | 69% = 47,679,215 EXP
    (Average) 68.5% = 47,333,713 |


    Note:
    1) when I leech, I do not Holy Symbol my Arch Mage as I am not trying to level up.
    2) The experience numbers above are without any bonus exp from events or monster cards

    One hour of split leech at Petri without holy symbol nets my Arch Mage on average 68.5% (47,333,713).

    Multiply by 25% to account for the bonus event EXP and you get (59,479,875 EXP)

    Duku
    Leeching at Duku's gave (68,826,900 EXP) / Hr
    To keep consistant with Petri Math, I leeched split without Holy Symbol for 30 minutes to obtain:
    (34,413,450 EXP / 30min)

    x2 = (68,826,900 EXP) / 1Hr

    do NOT multiply by 25% as 68.8m is with 25% bonus EXP

    The final results: (both are split leech, no HS, 25% bonus event EXP)

    Petri: 59,479,875 EXP/Hr
    Duku: 68,826,900 EXP/Hr


    (68,826,900 EXP / 59,479,875 EXP) shows Duku is 15.71% faster than Petri
    Rip Patch 65.0

    There are 2 potential flaws with my testing method:

    1) Knowing I was recording data, I was fully attentive while leeching, meaning the final numbers for Destroyed Park I may be inflated slightly.
    2) My map rotation may not have been optimal; I have leeched at Duku’s for less than 5 hours, so the final result may be lower than what can be achieved.


    However, THERE IS A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM; THE PETRI EXP/HR WAS FROM BEFORE PATCH 65.0.

    As you all know, in Patch 65.0,

    Patch 65.0 is no longer relevant as Patch 65.1 came out
    When Patch 65.0 was first introduced and I read Ulu City Center was getting nerfed, I had to figure out exactly how badly the change was.
    After conducting the same test as above (split, no HS, +25% Bonus EXP) , here are the results:

    26,856,375 EXP / 30 minutes | x2 = | (53,712,750 EXP) / Hr

    53,712,750EXP vs 59,479,875EXP;

    That is 90.3% compared to before Patch 65.

    Ulu City Center spawn rates was reduced by ~10% in Patch 65.0

    Moving on to Patch 65.1:

    The same methodoligy was used in Petri/Duku Math; split leech, no HS, 25% bonus EXP

    The Results after 30 minutes:
    31,440,500 EXP / 30 minutes.

    x2 = (62,881,000 EXP) / Hr



    The Final Result:
    (62,881,000 EXP) / Hr


    If my data is correct, this means Ulu City Center received a ~5.7% buff compared to before patch 65.0. I had to be sure, so I tested and retested Ulu City Center. I tested for the full hour instead of 30 minutes MULTIPLE TIMES and my conclusion is that Petrifighter spawn rate on Ulu City Center is at the very least, THE SAME, IF NOT BETTER COMPARED TO Pre-Patch 65.0.

    The final numbers for Petri / Duku is:


    Petri: (62,881,000 EXP) / Hr
    Duku: (68,826,900 EXP) / Hr


    Exp/Hr at Duku (Destroyed Park I) is 9.46% faster compared to Petri (on Patch 65.1)

    Skelegon/Skelesaurus
    The Dragon Nest Left Behind was never altered during any of these patches.

    Experience at Skele = (60,115,870 EXP) / HR

    During Patch 65.0, I leeched for several hours at Skele because it was the more expensive leech compared to Petri. Following @benkrong 's map rotation,

    I managed ( 30,057,935 EXP) / 30 minutes (split, noHS, +25% bonus EXP)
    x2 = (60,115,870 EXP) / Hr
    Exp/Hr at Duku (Destroyed Park I) is 14.49% faster compared to Skele

    FINALLY, the numbers. (Split, no HS, +25% bonus EXP)

    Skele: (60,115,870 EXP) / Hr
    Petri: (62,881,000 EXP) / Hr
    Duku: (68,826,900 EXP) / Hr

    Skele: 48,092,696 EXP/Hr
    Petri: 50,304,800 EXP/Hr
    Duku: 55,061,520 EXP/Hr
    ===================================================================

    Experience Split
    For those of you who don’t know, experience split in a party of 3 (1 Arch Mage | Bishop + 2 buyers) is split 50%/25%/25%,

    The numbers above are the 50% from the Arch Mage | Bishop perspective. The experience a buyer can expect is half the number (since buyers receive 25% exp as opposed to 50%), and then multiplied by 1.5 (for Holy Symbol).
    Petri: 62,881,000 EXP / 2 = 31,440,500 EXP

    31,440,500 EXP * 1.5 (Holy Symbol) = 47,160,750 EXP

    47,160,750 EXP is the theoretical experience a buyer can expect in a split leech with Holy Symbol + 25% Bonus EXP
    ==================================
    EXP without 25% Bonus:
    62,881,000 EXP / 1.25 (Bonus Exp) = 50,304,800 EXP

    50,304,800 EXP / 2 = 25,152,400 EXP

    25,152,400 EXP * 1.5 (Holy Symbol) = 37,728,600 EXP

    The reason why this is not the actual exp gained is because:

    1) Experience in a party is dependent on (your level / total party level).
    This means having a higher-level leech seller / partner will give you less experience. This also means as your level increases, the Exp/Hr will also increase.

    2) Leecher skill/quality. Some leechers are more efficent than others. Some rotate the map more efficently. Some leechers sometimes miss re-casting Holy Symbol.
    All these factors play a role into the final Exp/Hr

    I hope to have informed you on the newest High-Level leeching map that is Destroyed Park I. Thank you and happy Royaling!

    On all 3 maps, data was collected with 1hit and ~95% telecast rate.

    Data was collected on different level mages (140, 16x, 17x, however this does not affect the final data because the experience gained by the Arch Mage / Bishop killing mobs is not affected by the Arch Mage’s / Bishop’s level.

    I was aware I was collecting data, meaning I was leeching ‘at 100%’ – a typical leecher will not always be leeching at 100%.

    I recorded video and took experience before/after a leech for [EXP/TIME] values. Reviewing the videos a second time, I can confirm that Holy Symbol was never on my Arch Mage / Bishop during data collecting.
    =====
    To replicate the EXP/HR, 2 things are required:
    1) the ability to telecast consistantly
    2) having knowledge of map rotation and position optimally in relation to the 7-second spawn window (thank you @benkrong for applying it to Skeles)

    All the data gathered is a mess (not in an excel sheet). I can probably scrounge something up, but it won't be great (aka- unreadable to another human. LOL).

    Guess I'll have to revisit duku leech as well. I gave destroyed park 2 a try and compared it with ulu city center. My findings were as such:

    split leech (10mins) @ duku (dp 2): 5.5mil exp

    split leech (10mins) @ petri (ucc): 6.5mil exp

    Pretty cool that this has become a new viable spot for high-tier Archmages with excess TMA. Also love how you took the time to measure EXP gain across different maps!

    also hopefully if this is right, we will have new leech spots instead of doing petri from 105 to 120 !
    I'd love to see few options instead of just 1 optimal map :)

    I also began tried Destroyed Park II, but quickly realized the map was not leecher-friendly. Destroyed Park I all the way!

    Hey thanks! The 7-second spawn cycle video at Skele was very helpful and informative, so thank you for taking the time to create that post. my EXP/Hr definitely increased big time following that rotation.

    I hope the numbers are correct as well. I think there is potential for Duku to be the third High-Level leech map along with Petri/Skele; and yes, spread the word! Hopefully this can alleviate some of the demand for Skele/Petri maps as well.

    Nice thread, we expected someone to do the math and discover our intentions with Duku maps sooner or later.

    what makes this map not leecher friendly to you? wouldn't it be leecher friendly if you 100% 1 hit?

    Tim I think he means the map rotation in general. In contrast to the Petri map which is just 4 flatish platforms, destroyed park 2 is hard to move around while telecasting due to the multiple platform levels and the sloped floor. I personally find significant effort is needed to cover the entire map. With that being said, it might have more potential with 2 mages...

    Hello @Tim !

    I should have chosen better words to describe Destroyed Park II. Destroyed Park I is the better of the two maps to leech on because:

    1) There are more Duku's on Destroyed Path I (UNLESS THE EVENT EGGS AFFECT DUKU SPAWN RATE) + there are Sylgies as well (whereas Destroyed Park II has none)

    2) The map layout of Destroyed Park I is easier for an Arch Mage to telecast on especially near the top platforms.
    The middle platforms (connected by the broken street light) allows easy left to right telecasting like in ulu2.

    3) Any Duku in the 'pit' on the bottom platform of Destroyed Path II cannot be cleared unless you go down to the bottom platform which is also an inconvenience.

    I must give credit to @Eli 's as his video testing out the Duku map was the inspiration for me to check out Destroyed Path I. Shout out to @resum for showing me the video!

    Have you guys looked into the EXP-priority rotation thats simply along these 3 platforms? you can hit the lower 'pit' and edge to edge Duku on these smaller custom platforms that we provided and you can hit the top Duku on the larger center platform here. The downside is that you don't loot most of the map with the mage character like this.

    I have without formally testing exp but the impression I had was that it would likely still be inferior to destroyed park I.

    As for drops, not sure what’s actually worth looting at Dukus.

    Happy to test the maps out when I get some time off work next weekend.

    Overall I’m not sure how I feel about nerfing ulu but indirectly promoting leeching in terms of meso generation. I agree with the overall reduction in meso injection into the economy but many don’t enjoy the lack of flexibility in leeching (or leeching in general) - the buff on ToT drops doesn’t really offset this by much tbh; as Sparky mentioned in the other thread, the true buff to archmages in this patch was Dukus which is leech-targeted.

    Thank you @Tim for the recommendation. I see now that you can indeed hit Duku's in the bottom 'pit' on the two small platforms on both sides.
    Further data collection is required to see the EXP/Hr at Destroyed Park II compared to Destroyed Park I / Petri / Skele.
    I will collect the data SoonTM and update the post with experience values at Destroyed Park II.

    @UrbanJuggernaut , if by rates you mean Split/Solo leech price rates, stay tuned! My next post was going to discuss Skele / Petri / Duku leech pricing.
    But for now, a few hypotheticals:

    1) Petri (70/140) drops (60/120) ~> Skele (60/120) price remains the same ~> Duku takes Petri's old price (70/140)

    2) Petri remains 70/140 ~> Skele remain 60/120 ~> Duku becomes 80/160

    Just hypothethicals.

    My prediction is that Petri (70/140) and Skele (60/120) will remain the same and Duku will be populated by high level Arch Mages who have the TMA to 1hit Duku's via sheer levels.
    I predict that Duku will be 75/150 sold by high level Arch Mages and 80/160 for lower level Arch Mages.


    Side Note:
    Arch Mage | Magic required to 1 hit:
    Petri: 1257
    Duku: 1347

    Bishop | Magic Required to 1hit:
    Petri: 1590
    Duku: 1702

    Also @Tim , is it possible to either confirm or deny the accuracy of my predicted values?
    I just really want to know if my calculations for Ulu City Center on Patch 65.0 was accurate.
    I predicted a ~10% decrease in spawns at Ulu City Center on patch 65.0

    Hello,

    I did 10mins of Park 1 and yield 30% compared to Park 2 which got me 40%. However, I did not calculate any numerical figures apart from the % gain. I would also like to add that for Park 2, you get more kill counts by going 1 platform lower from Tim's suggestion. The downside is that you might get knocked off. Pardon my telecasting skills but here is a video to help visualise what I just mentioned :D

    Thanks for your video, I hope people like this alternative method for 'EXP farming' where they sacrifice some loot for the best leech rates!

    @Aestel , Thank you for the video and feedback! I will have to go back and test Destroyed Park II telecasting down to the second mini platform instead of only the first one.

    My findings up to now was Destroyed Park I > Destroyed Park II in terms of overall exp, but that was with me only going down to the first mini platform.

    I will have to give it a try and record the numbers! Numbers SoonTM.

    Hey Tim,

    Duku drops seems fine given that it gives considerably more exp than petri/skele.

    But given the slight exp nerf to petri leech, should the drops of petri be slightly buffed/ skele slightly nerfed? Everyone seems to want skele nowadays ~f10

    @tohmartoh ,Ulu City Center is better than it ever was in terms of experience per hour.

    Pre-Patch 65.0, the average experience gained per hour was (47,333,713EXP)/Hr compared to (50,304,800 EXP)/Hr on Patch 65.1.

    IMPORTANT! This is the experience gained from the leech seller (in a split leech, without holy symbol, without 25% bonus event EXP).

    With these numbers, you can calculate the expected experience from the leech buyers perspective which is:

    Pre-Patch 65.0 - (35,500,284.75 EXP) / Hr
    Patch 65.1 - (37,728,600 EXP) / Hr
