I'd imagine this topic has been brought up a couple of times, but being newer to the server and seeing a huge influx of players I was wondering; Would you enjoy boosted EXP from solo/exp party training rather than a bunch of leeching? Other than the uber-early days on MapleStory, party training at places like Lionheart Castle used to be some of the most fun and rewarding times grinding. Do you think the developers are happy with the exp rate of party training and leveling from bossing? I'm not necessarily looking for faster training, just a more community based experience through it. Maybe I'm totally missing something here but to me it seems like a no-brainer.
People have been talking about a party grind area similar to LHC for years now, myself included just yesterday. I have a lot of fond memories of LHC.
The only place relevant to party training is really road to oblivion 4 but that is at end game. Its a nice concept to add extra maps that may have something like party play bonuses or something like that to encourage a party grind up to where you need to be.
Perfect! We don't need a huge patch or content. Just a little tweak to party exp in certain maps to make a community of people looking to grind viable. Which in turn, makes every class viable! The more the merrier.
:BUMP: Thank you for the likes! I wish this struck more of a conversation or we had some clarity why this system isn't implemented!
I also agree. It’s basically all leeching and bossing afterwards. Something calm, community-based, and beneficial if this were to happen. Fond memories party grinding.
One reason I believe it would also benefit leeching (some people used to sell oblivion leech). It would be difficult to implement a fail safe like: if player doesn’t hit the monster they dont get exp zone party EXP. To be quite honest, I feel like there’s at this point too much endgame content to finish in a day. I think it would be better if we somehow found an easier way to level 110-135, the painful midgame. Current Endgame Content: Zak 2x Krex 2x Shao 1x Horntail 2x CWKPQ 2x Scar/Ga 2x Toad 1x Dojo Neo Tokyo (theres like 3 bosses I think? So a lot lol) BGA/Boss 1x I have done maybe little over half of that a few times when I was pushing for 200. We cannot suggest EXP boosted instance dungeons because GMs cannot add instance maps because there would be/already are too many botters that would not be able to be reported by players (they’d be hidden in their own instance map). A suggestion for party based midgame content approx 100~135: Add EXP rewards in between Dojo tiers when you reach a new zone. -There are already implemented level restrictions of max 50 levels. -Make the exp good enough for these people under lvl 140, don’t make it scaleable. -It’s hard to multiclient leech dojo cause you have to move thru so many doors. -Can keep the Point reduction on solo players but the exp incentive might encourage players to still do it if they have no party to slowly work towards the belt and get okay exp on the way. -Not saying this should be a super level spot like CPQ2. But just some relevant exp to lvl 100-135s would be nice.
I like this idea. Making dojo have a sort of target level relevant xp range 10x-13x would add a unique dynamic to the mid-game in its current state considering how free and available leech is then. Per some of the other talk in this thread, I also really liked how LHC was at GMS release in theory. There were a lot of eh things in the game at that point but I think a really neat idea was to add monsters with large amounts of HP and buffs, with a spawn rate that scaled per amount of people on the map. The party play was very unique to me, even after I'd been playing GMS for probably 4-5 years at that point. Obviously there were a lot of issues with cheaters and the system wasn't perfect-but the idea was great. It brought back the feeling of being a worthwhile member of a team w/party buffs/maps that favored certain classes/ etc that kind of got lost once you were out of the pq level range and not yet at acceptable bossing range or just wanted to meet new people and grind. Doing something like this here would certainly require a lot in terms of a foolproof exp system, but I'd definitely support it.
@Swag Yeah, adding worth to other classes while training and just people in numbers in general was the main idea. I like what you mentioned. @Cynn There is a lot to do in terms of bossing! But, you can never guarantee that you will get in those raids. Not all classes will be accepted into them at all times. I know if you find a good community of people you can make it happen, but it isn't as easy for every class. I think the Dojo exp suggestion would be awesome seeing as dojo in general has the feel of bossing and pq tied together. I can see how changing the exp with parties could be difficult, but I'm not sure how hard changing it for a specific map would be if you tweak it such as how LHC was before. My main idea was to simply give value back to party training outside of bossing. Think of a party's rotation of people coming in to grind for a bit and others going out to join their raids. Would make for a cool experience imo.
Totally agree. LHC is one of the best memories I got from “old” GMS. I know it’s post Big Bang, but we could get party play maps so we can grind in a different, more fun way.
Hey ! I want to share that neotokyo has some of the best end game grinding maps now! the monster gives 50k+ exp each and I get 5-7% per hour as 19x, definitely check them + u get silver coins which could be sold 1m+ each
